Default Why should we be grateful for F2P?

I always see some guy rushing into a thread with legitimate complaints just to copy n paste his generic speech about how we should be grateful because the game is free and blah blah blah

In most cases, the game is free to play, but you have to dish out cash for a better experience so why shouldn't you be able to criticize the game?

"then don't play it" If everyone took your advice it wouldn't be long before you the only one left on the server to enjoy the peace and quiet that is gaming alone.

You really think those sites don't generate cash from making their games easily accessible (F2P)? You think you or I owe them anything?

You don't owe them anything, and you don't need to be grateful. They are making their money or else the game wouldn't be up to begin with. Subscriptions aren't the only way to make money from online gaming.

You're too scared to stand up and voice an honest opinion and give out good suggestions because you're afraid someone will take your toy away.

If you want to help your game of choice last longer, the next time you read criticism, just put the d*** back in your mouth, and shut up before you go scaring their money into logging out and uninstalling a decent game.

    You "kiss ass".

Absolutely best failed rant I've seen thus far.

Because obviously we will all listen and heed your post.

Also, would you rather the games that don't have cash shops to be P2P?

And honestly, how long have you been on OnRPG? 2 minutes and 30 seconds?

We aren't really scared of voicing our opinions at all, thats why I can call you a useless ranting dickwad that wont really get anything done except waste your last bottle of e-viagra on an egowhore community.

If it's F2P, then we should be grateful that the game sucks so much that they're willing to let us waste our lives downloading, registering and playing for no cost to us.

It's just like our neighbors lawns, if we can walk and take a piss on them, then their grass gets watered for free, and we should be grateful that it's there, otherwise we'd have to piss in the bathroom, which costs us money.

    >.> That rant phailed!

I just got one thing to say to you: Get a job, work for a week, and then play a P2P MMO for the rest of the year.

Nobody is scared dude. It's free my dear. You try it because it's free. You try P2P games for a week, because there is a trial. You play F2P games for years because it is free.

You don't owe them anything, and they don't owe you anything. But they offer you something... Which you must be a dumbass to refuse.

You know what? That's exactly right. When I play a game, that game is mine for the length of time I enjoy it. It's MY toy, that it is, and I'm not going to share it with people who want to change it.

I don't get the point of this topic...what exactly are we not doing/doing?

I don't mind playing F2P games...I waste enough time doing other stuff anyways..
I have hours logged on many games...alot of which I still play.

Time is money, but remember, YOU PLAY GAMES TO PASS THE TIME. NO ONE FORCES YOU TO DOWNLOAD AND PLAY.
IF YOUR PLAYING A GAME, IT WILL TAKE UP YOUR TIME.
    Don't like it?
Do something else...like play a console game.

The people who make f2p games made them knowing that they will be running on a donation system, they have no idea if they will be getting money or not.

p2p you know your going to turn a profit, because "if you have to pay for it, it has to be good!" idealists
P2p are no better then f2p.

My reason to be thankful is, because they have the balls to make it free.

I'm grateful for F2P games because I've always got something to do. I buy a console and that console is only fun when I have enough money to buy another game. Honestly, my PS3 just sits in the living room most of the time because I can't always afford new games. Even if I only enjoy playing them for an hour, it's still something to play.

Well, for one thing people who work for F2P games (GMs and such) get paid crap. If you are going to complain at a company, the people who get the complaints usually have nothing to do with the issue(higher ups do the business decisions) so why be ungrateful to the people who can do nothing about your problem and thus put more stress on them when they are getting paid little and have to fix never-ending problems and force them to quit?

Unless you hate the GM for justifiable reasons, I see no reason to make the people who work there oddly uncomfortable by adding to their already unpleasant work. Not to mention there are already tons of people with the philosophy of ranting like mad at these people for every little thing. A little gratitude goes a long way in making someone's day.

The majority of games i play are P2P. (Keep your cookie)

I just get annoyed everytime someone wants to talk about the game they play captain dickhead decides to show up and tell everyone what they should be thankful for.

No need for me to reply to the majority of these hostile posts since they aren't really relevant to what I do and how I play.

    Thank you trolls.

I've yet to play a free to play game, or cash shop game, that even comes close to comparing to most p2p mmorpgs.

You get what you pay for. Well, not in WoW anyway.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

Is it really morally correct (as a gamer) to demand a certain standard from a game you can play for FREE? I mean, yes, cool, they do make money too. But then, that is where you applaud them for their balls, and in the case of the pioneers, innovation.

Of course, you (might?) still have a certain set of expectations, but it should be nowhere at the level of a P2P MMORPG. However, that differs on a case by case basis, some companies have obscene budgets while some have meager funding.

Please use your brain more and look deeper than what's on the surface.

I wanted to experience it first person so morons on forums wouldn't say "Play first then comment".
    Unfortunatelly, it doesn't work.
