Except he's not looking for the "bunch of other things". It has micro storage and as a music player, is just good for "in-between". It's not good for a full portable music station. Not enough space. No where near enough.

Now, lots of people like to bash the I-Pod because it's the "in" thing. That's what happens to things that are "in". Half the people love them, half the people hate them.

Now, my advice, shop around first and see what you are looking in a player.
I-Pods have a reputation to scratch which people really complain about, but what they never mention is that it can take more damage then most other mp3 players and still work.
Sure, there will be scratches, but it will at least work after you've driven a car over it, which I think is more important then a few scratches.
And they do come with quite a price, but the warrenty is very good. My friend's I-pod broke down recently, and he just had to send it in, and it was replaced, he didn't pay shipping or anything. As long as you have the recipt and the warrenty is still valid, it's that easy to replace it.

And also, a reminder, I-tunes is not the only program that will import songs into the I-pod anymore. You can now use Winamp too.
