Simple Request

Alright, need something to play when I'm not on Xbox Live on CoD4.

Basically need something that can run with 256mb of ram. Graphic card is not too bad.
Just something fun/multiplayer.

(Was gonna try counterstrike, but couldn't find it free anywhere, didn't know you had to pay for it)

EDIT: I heard CS 1.6 was free, but when I download it from anywhere I get the SteamInstall thingy, and have to pay to play CS><.

I think CS used to be free a long time ago. Nowadays, the download is free, but playing on their service is not. There is a way around it though. You have to download some changed files and then you'll be able to play on unprotected servers. IMO, It won't be as good an experience.

But I think you should just wait for the Combat Arms open beta. It should only be in a couple of weeks...I hope.

Buy counter strike . And that's it , simple as that. You obviously don't have much problem in spending some money in gaming since you have a xbox360 and cod4 ... so... 15€ ( retail price in my country , but it's cheaper in the US ) shouldn't be any problem at all.

2º , don't try those non-steam counter strike stuff , seriously . 1st you have a nice chance of ...well...not downloading the proper stuff , 2nd , it's not the same thing , there are simply no good non-steam servers running , maybe a few deathmatches (gayyy) with 1/2 of ppl there hacking , so get the game , you won't regreat it.

Since you never played you will probably find the graphics quite unnapealing but after you get the noobish phase , pff you won't mind since the gameplay is simply the best fps gameplay ever made.

Edit : Well just in case ... i mean Counter Strike 1.6 , aka CS Anthology . CS:S won't run in your pc ( i think... even if it did wouldnt run properly ) and it suks anyways
