I used to play Pristontale a lot. And for some reason I can grind in it even though I can't in other games. I just couldn't stop playing it.
But it's really only fun during exp events. When 2x is gone, it's long boring inching exp.
I always level and go "damn, still another lvl before new skill" ._. That kinda kept me going.

wth r u talking about, first every game has grind, secound its grind is bad, its quite easy to get to lvl 20-30 in a few days, depends how much you play, also the community is good, and most of the time you'll be partying and since you'll be talking to your party members, time goes by quite fast and you lvl almost instantly.

I said as far as I know people stopped playing because of the grind, I was never interested in this game for the same reason, you are happy grinding every time, every hour wasting time with friends doing the same thing with no real gratification whatsoever, I don't, so enjoy your game

People stopped playing (and I mean a LOT, like, almost all the players) when they made the game P2P, so they turned it F2P again, and almost everyone came back.

Maybe you're thinking of that?

could be, that's why I said probably since the game features grind and that was one of the reasons I heard most people here stopped playing, even after the game went F2P

past 3x - grinding becomes a true pain in the ass.
partying at a spawn location was the only true way to get some moderate experience, but even then it rivals maplestory in terms of leveling speed (i get like 1 lv / week, quit both because of it :\)
pristontale was fun though since partying is a MUST rather than an option and the item drop rate was pretty decent.

Arri's explanation seems to be true. I'm one of those people who quit due to P2P. I remember when I was waiting for Ragnarok to go to Closed Beta or Open Beta (I forgot which) I was playing this game everyone. When Ragnarok finally opened, I continued to play this game as well. I had like 5 friends who was playing it with me quit due to the same reason.

The only memory I had of PristonTale was fighting leeches with my Fighter and his bat axe. The most memorable thing was climbing up the mountain from outside Ricarten then running on the cliff to get on the bridge in Ricarten. People were like "Hey! How did you get ontop of the bridge?" (not ontop of the bridge itself but the edge. The part where it protects people from falling off. I don't know how to describe it.) Ahhhh good times. good times.

I wonder if my account still works. Doubt it since it was like 7 years ago. It was probably in its CBT phase back then.

I had a lvl 48 Pikeman and a 49 Mech my friend had a lvl 50 priest. Let me remind you i used pass tense. Why because they made the game P2P and screwed us all over. They made us pay so me and my friend said screw this game and i never wanna see it again. When i went back on like when it was F2P again the gfx sux so much i dont even want to bother.

From he first view pristontale doesnt seem very special. However, for me, back then (3-4 years when it had its hype), it was one of the strongest games. Yes it has grind. In other games, when you grind, its like the total downside, and it completely sucks. But when you grind in pristontale, its like a fun process that is absolutely enjoyable! Why? First of all, it has a movement system that I have yet to see in any other mmorpg. Most of the korean mmorpgs use a system where you click some kind of pointer on the floor and your char will walk towards it. In Pristontale, you keep the mouse button pressed and the char will walk instantly towards the direction, even though you change it! This lets you controll your character 10 times better than any "click and walk towards the point" system.
Also, the grind is totaly based on AoE. Every class in this game gets awesome AoE spells that you can spam non stop during grind. This way, the grind will always be: Get the highest amount of mobs, meet in the middle, and bash the shit out of them with all the party members, and its just fun compared to other games where you keep clicking mobs and press 1-2-3 on your keyboard.
I tell you: Dont judge this game before you have done aoe partys in oasis...

it was a great "grind" game ^^ better than as such as befor. I like it ... got an lvl 40+ guy ... damn I dont know the class name :/ templer or so ? ^^ ...
