American idol ruined TV.
Its getting pretty annoying with all these new bull shitty reality shows with judges. What really ticks me off is that out of the 3 one of them acts metrosexual, but odds are he really isnt.
Seriously, why do they keep hosting these pointless shows?
IE- Farmer wants a wife, Doesnt have judges, but is pointless? Celebrity Circus, Beauty and the geek, pointless, America's top model, and its clone "Stylista"

Pretty much exploded with the sucess of Survivor (at least in North America). And that show is scripted and edited so much it might as well have been written/scripted w/ actors instead of real people.
Oh well... maybe the general public will take their heads outta their asses and realize that crap is not entertaining.

1) It's not reality TV. Even shows like Big Brother are not "reality", so "talent" shows aren't reality.
2) TV was dead before American Idol. It's the other opiate for the masses. My TV gets turned on for The Simpsons, football, DVDs and Xbox. That's it.

Sigh... 'reality tv' is a term used to describe shows such as big brother, survivor, etc. This is because they have 'real' people and not actors.
So please...don't argue that it isn't 'reality', which is clearly the answer. It's a term dude... wtf.

There are more reality shows on now than ever, which means less timeslots for better shows... which sucks big time. Although, I am still not confident that anything better would fill those slots.. at least it couldn't be worse.

I don't have one of those, but no worries. I just download HD rips of shows that I haven't seen. That way I can download like 6 seasons commercial free and watch them instead of the regular crap.
(mostly shows from hbo, showtime, etc. since I don't get those stations)

This season I never watched really watched American Idol (although like others say, the first few weeks of it are funny because there are many that are pretty bad).
The only one that has kept me entertained and I for some reason can watch over and over (not many I like to do that) is America's Best Dance Crew, definitely check it out.
As for that I don't really watch much T.V. anymore, not because it is crappy since there are shows for all kinds of things, just got other things to do.

People are to blame for the state of TV. If they weren't so stupid as to keep giving shit like this airtime, ratings and TV time, they'd learn that it's not what the public want, and stop making them.
