Well first you need to learn how to stay on it lol. Just ride around for awhile until you get used to pushing and turning and can comfortably ride it without having to worry about randomly losing balance and falling off.

What kind of board did you guys get. Seriously there are some cheap boards out there that are just plain hard to work with.

*shrug* dont want to spend a ton of money on a board when i may grow tired of failing - trust me, my attention span is rather short - but i do want to get good at it - and i need the exersize =P.

My friend said it took him about 3-4 days to be able to do clean ollies continously. I told him it didn't look like it would take that long to learn. He bet me $20 that it would take me at least 2 days to do it right.

I did it in 30 minutes.

Can you do it while moving? Cause if not it's kinda pointless. Just about anyone can get on a board and do an ollie it's not very complicated but doing it while your riding and doing it clean takes a bit more work than you are probably used to.

But hey you got $20 out of it.

if your looking to skateboard for exercise, run maybe, that will get in more exercise in 30 mins than skate boarding will for like few hours. and if you say it wont, your not running fast enough, pick it up slacker. lol

i would only skateboard for the fun, not to exercise. i can only ride around, not to complicated...
