    Default What would you change to make some MMORPG more attractive?

    Say, what feature(s) would you change on one of the MMORPGs you have tried, or haven't tried, to make it perfect for you or at least more attractive?
    Go wild with your imagination, even if you know that there's no way the feature would ever exist.
    BUT here's a limitation: don't say you would like a game even more if they changed more than, say, 10 of it's main characteristic features. If that's the case then just ask for another game. Unless the one thing that you like is the art syle/graphics.

    I really liked Maple Story, but the grind at higher levels becomes almost unbearable. I know, the game is quite popular and plenty of people are high levels and loving the grind... But for me it would be a perfect game if you could level up faster. I'm not saying that you should reach level 200 in less than a month; I'm saying the game should become a little bit more casual... you know, not spend 10+ hours just to gain a level. That would probably cut down on the amount of hackers and what not...
    Other than that I think the game is almost perfect.

    I concur with the MS thing. If they boosted the EXP rate 8-10x, it could be a very fun game.

    Other than that, I'd really like it if Mabinogi wasn't so cash-shop biased.

    Have more things to do besides the usual grind, pvp, quest, and craft.
    It's a bloody staple to mmorpgs for some reason and most don't want to go outside this box.

    Hmm..How about if they gave Runescape the same graphics as Oblivion, and the same ability to do anything you want in the game. Of course stealing would have to be out. But you can still sneak around town and do Criticals to the npcs and such. Just have them respawn..And you could say why don't i just play oblivion..well it aint an online game..also decapitations would be nice in the game..

    I'd have to say that if maplestory did a few change it wouldn't be bad:
    1) Not a cartoony 2-D platformer.
    2) Not grindy as hell.
    3) Had PvP.
    4) Had quests that weren't stupid as hell (Collect 200 of these crap items yay!).
    5) Had interesting and balanced classes.
    6) About half of the community was shot for being annoying as hell.
    7) Didn't have male / female items and a population heavily skewed towards male so that male items cost 10x the amount as female.
    8) Required skill instead of holding down a button and pressing insert to use a potion.
    9) Wasn't flooded with a tonne of hackers.


    Since I'm not allowed to go over 10 things for one game I'll have to stop there.

    A 3d Maplestory with really good graphics and five times more content then WoW.
    I'd also like it to be really popular with fifty bajillion people on at one time so I never get bored...

    Yeah of course I know that I mean I just want a ton of players like World of Warcraft or something so it doesn't seem so dead.

    JUMP + WASD for neosteam, or even fly mode like Flyff... and able to choose btw male and female chars coz there is no male elfs :O or female Luifes
    Less grind for Rohan and no cash shop depended

    NeoSteam:

    More balanced classes
    WASD
    Hack n' slash combat
    Male and Female for all races
    Easier to find NPCs(I had a hard time finding the Terawhale quest NPC for rogs)
    Less time traveling
    Easier to find quest monsters (really needs to be worked on)

    Hey if anyone has a guide on NS moneymaking can you link me to it?

    Main reason I quit NS lol(the pricey stuff). Rear Land = epic win if you do Elerd vs Rogs

    Runescape with better graphics and a lot better combat system but not clicking the hotkey for skills. Actually make like oblivion like someone else said, or like DMoMM because i like kicking people into fires and then by using the enviroment a noob could kill a Uber geared up person in one hit if he kicked him onto spikes. They should also make the skills more fun to do like fishing should be like 2moons or change it altogether, and hunting make it first person with a bow and you run around forests.
    Archlord need more fun stuff to do and less of the grind actually make every fanatasy MMO first person because i can't get enough of the combat syaytem and the grind will be insanly fun with a party.

    On a 8x server I hit 60 or so in one day. It's no fun to level too quick in Maple 'cus there's not much to do anyway.

    I'd like it if GunZ turned into more of an RPG sort of game. Still keep the Third person shooter aspect, but stray away from being room based. For example, let's put GunZ in, let's say, Guild Wars. We'd have such things like skills, NPC's, a pretty huge map, and a story. Of course certain things would have to change. Like maybe the whole leveling system. We could remove the level cap. And maybe make it more grind based, since grinding would now take a little more skill and wouldn't get boring as fast. You guys can add on if you'd like.

    For those of you who haven't tried GunZ, I recommend you do to get an idea of what I'm talking about. It's pretty fun.

    For Fantasy Earth Zero I'd release it to North America and Europe <_< ...

    Anyways, Ragnarok Online
    - Add a lot more quests (and good quests, not kill X monsters) and a main storyline mission
    - Add a party-scaling, so that people who party get slightly more exp and items than people who solo
    - More diverse areas (instead of just High Orcs gathered in just one area)
    - Add a way to reset your stats
    - Finally, rename Priests to "Destroyers" and change their sprite so that people stop asking for "buff plz" whenever they see one :P .

    That would be just so GOOD! Everyone is running around halfstepping monsters and killing eachother while doing so.

    Problem with Maple I see is that there's really not much to do when you have 4th job. Okay, so I can use some new skills, but so what? I'm just gonna be grinding on Skelegons for the rest of my maple career!

    Which leads to me suggesting there needs to be much better endgame content for 4th jobs. The level cap is 200, yet the strongest *trainable* monsters are LV113. I looked at Korean Ghost Online (which is similar to MS), they have trainable monsters up to LV140ish. It resulted in a vicious cycle where once I became nearly broke, I would have to spend several days training on some LV50ish monsters just to make back that money.

    So maybe instead of trying to make more and and more pointless lowbie content, Wizet should focus on making 3rd and 4th jobs more enjoyable. Main reason I quit Maple was because 3rd job was very hellish to level up in, especially when the stuff I trained on cost more mesos than I made. It resulted in a vicious cycle where after I lost almost all of my money on training, I'd have to go back to grinding on LV50ish monsters (Luster Pixies, Golems) for several days to make back that money before I can go back to my "normal" training ground.

    The thing i care most about is the time it takes to level. Thats why i play only private server mmorpgs.

    The worse i will tolerate is 1 kill 5-10% even at high levels. Or i might as well quit. Or like 20 min grind 1 level. Even at level 100s.

    Thats why only private servers for me.
