Holy Crap Warcraft 3 is amazing!

Amazingly enough, I finally picked up the warchest today, and have found it to be one of the best rt's I have ever played. The story is what mostly drove me in along with just the style of it and the new things it brings along with Blizzards usual Starcraft feel. Anyway I was wondering if anyone wanted to play on battlenet with me, im still a newb, but I got the basics down and am still wondering how it even works, it seems very different from starcrafts and diablo's, so yah

It's the plague of Warcraft 3. It's a multiplayer custom map that most of the wc3 community plays, there are two bases, you get to be on only one side, you get one hero and you have to kill the enemy heroes with the help of items and your abilities, and constant wave of troops that would fight for your side. (You do not have to control them) but of course, dota is not the only map that has this kind of gameplay, but it's certainly the most popular one out there (mainly due to constant updates and an old community, the original dota was for roc, and dota allstars is for tft), but I don't like it, you can try it if you want, but don't get suckered in, it has the worst community I have ever seen for a video game. It's baaaad, but it's not the reason why I don't like though.

They're very different, to each his own, but I prefer WC3 RTS to SC, because it was kind of refreshing for a mix of rpg and rts. An interesting way of playing the game indeed...

either way from what ive found, the story is getting more in depth, so Ive decided to get back into WoW again and try to make some connection from the rts game to the mmo game

quick question in battle realms is it normal when there are hundreds upon hundreds of people on the screen at once, that your fps is anywhere from 10-12?

I hate WC3 normal map because it's all about building your heroes to win. A level 10 hero can easily defeat man army. Most people play WC3 is for DOTA.
It's not the best RTS ever for me. You probably don't play much RTS.

cant micro? lol, there are items that require players to control several units. There are also hero illusions and stuff. And im pretty sure dota requires more teamwork than a ladder map.
