Default What's your opinion on summer school?

Many people I know are taking summer school for SS. I didn't take it for other reasons. but i kinda wanted to take it simply becuz it sounds a lot easier and it's only 1 1/2 months and it'll be over.
    other reasons like
-wont have the meanest teacher at my skool
    - finished SS11 and it'll be over for good
    - SS is my worst subj.
    - passing is all that matters in SS(Social Studies if ur wondering)

but is summer skool actually really hard? or actually really easy?

it kinda suks now too cuz now my friends are all gone and im stuck alone in my worse subj. for 10months with HIGH possibly the hardest teacher...im scared

whats ur thoughts on summer skool?would u rather go or not go? skip ur summer or not?

EDIT:: Oh sorry guys, i forgot that my friends are taking summer school to advance (skip ahead)
I totally forgot that summer school is also used when you fail as well.

i think summer school is for kids to lazy or dumb to just pass it the first time around. Honestly, its kinda pathetic to be in it.

I dont think there should be summer school, either you pass or fail and repeat. another thing used by man to make education appear better than it is...

do what? you can do a subject that you didnt fail in summer school? I was not aware of this.
I thought it was for kids who failed subjects in school.

He's talking about the people who fail a class and have to go to summer school and frankly, I agree with him.

Back in junior high there were a few kids that took summer school classes to catch up because of illness etc.

There is nothing wrong with taking summer classes. People who think otherwise are usually douches and fairly ignorant themselves.

Whatever the reason, if you need it...take it.

I don't know I've never had it. No one here has ever taken ss to catch up or get ahead. It's always people who failed the class.

I took web design over a summer once, it wasn't that bad. Although most summer school teachers have pretty much given up on their students so if you're doing it to get ahead then you're ahead of the kids who have to take it again.

Same thing with me. I graduated 1 year early. I agree with the bold portion.

For me, it was about the deal...

My parents made a deal with me. They would pay for my way for 1 year after I turned 18.

So I graduated one year ahead of schedule, and had 1.5 years for freedom. I did have a job, but it was for extra spending cash. Everything else was paid for... rent, car, insurance, gas, food, utlities, and clothing. Do you know how much good credit I built up cause I had no living expenses to worry about? Personal loan here, paid in 2 weeks. Personal loan there, paid it in 2 weeks.

So yes, summer school is a good thing if you know your goal.

They dont offer the option of getting ahead here.

But last year I did have to take summer school since I was 3 years of math behind of my class, so last year I did 3 years of Math in a year, and now they gave me the choice of getting into AP Calculus... I gave them the almighty finger.

But just get used to rateyes v.2, he's a hillbilly that likes to pew pew pew out of his possum

I wasn't aware that you could take a class in summer school and NOT take it in normal school. Are you sure that is right?

**** me, I would have done that every year.

Personally, I love summer school. Its kind of a bummer at first...but the way I see it is: I'm up at 6 AM anyway...ready by 7 AM to get on a bus. My friends aren't up until noon as it is...so I might as well go to summer school.

I always had a lot of fun in summer school. It kinda sucks to have to go, but once you do...its fun. The worst kids from all the schools come to one school. Its so awesome...everyone in there is ****ing crazy (breaking stuff, etc etc)

And its EASY. As long as you GO to class...you pass. I shouldn't have passed math 10, but I was there, bright and early...every day...looking like I was taking notes...and she passed me. Its that easy. Also, there isn't any homework.

If you can do a year long class in 3 months, you are a fool to not jump on that opportunity right now!

Now, a summer school story...for those of you who are interested. I was in class with about 15 other people...all crazy as shit. One kid goes "can I go to the bathroom", and left. One of my ex-girlfriends was in the class...and some other girl called her a ****. She got really pissed off, and threw the overhead projector at the wall. It was so awesome. Everyone was all quiet, and then I was like "Lol, no notes today!" then everyone was laughing really hard. Then, like 15 minutes later, the kid who "Went to the bathroom" came in with a sub from the store down the road. LMFAO. The teacher was like "WTF! NO" so he ate it in the hallway then came back in. By that time, I hadn't learned one thing, and the day was over.

Everyday shit like that happened. It was so awesome.
