    Default New DVD burner.

I recently purchased the 20x superallwrite SATA DVD writer, and it isn't working. The problem is that my computer isn't even picking up that its there. This is the first time i've used anything SATA,and im wondering if it was the wrong choice. My motherboard HAS a SATA port in it that i've used, but im wondering if it doesn't work.Either that or I think it might be the cable is broken.By the way,the power input works just fine, and the tray opens and closes.

    Any help or advice?

Did you plug your driver into your power supply? and does your power supply strong enough?

Yes,like I said,Its working just fine besides the fact the computer isn't finding it.
I've even tried unplugging other drives to see and still no dice.

Push down hard to make sure it's plugged in. Anything SATA on my computer had to be pushed down extremely hard for it to show up. Was a pain in the ass. Just push down to make sure it's in.

Since it's opening and closing obviously the power supply is plugged in. Make sure the SATA cable is firmly plugged into your mobo and into the drive. You also might have to go into BIOS to enable it, or at least make sure it's showing up there.
