    Default Is bioshock scary?

I am planning to get the game for the PC and I was wondering if there is any gore or blood scenes in the game. If there is, can you turn them off via settings?

Yeah, so is RE4. HOLY SHIT ZOMBEH WITH CHAINSAW.

Not really, if you find Bioshock scary you are for all intents and purposes a *****.

I found Bioshock to be a little creepy at some points, but hardly scary.

As for blood and gore, there is plenty of it and it can't be turned off.

    You want scary?

I just played your mom, damn did she get scary.

Just kidding, but anyway, Bioshock is scary in a way that it scares you once in the game and that's just about it. It does do a good job at building up fear/suspense though.

It has it's jumpy moments, but, really, it's nothing scary.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

The only scary parts are when you find hidden stuff cause this one time I went into this bathroom or w/e and it was flooded and the lights went out and electricity flew everywhere and all you hear is this door close then you pick up the item and noticed that a window like door was open then you leave the room and noticed a closed window like door thing and this guy pops out "WAS HAPPENIN" and wacks you with some big hammer thing. Yea good game.

From what i heard, its more of a spooky atmosphere, not in-your face scary.

you gotta be shitting me, you must have put the brightness all the way up. The game is meant to be played with the meter when you start the game to determine the brightness ALL THE WAY DOWN! For a first timer, turn the meter all the way down than tell me if your scared or not

Not really, I've played all the Silent Hill games and a majority of horror games today and Bioshock is NOT scary. Sure, sometimes it has a sense of dread but there's nothing scary.

i agree about penumbra, never played s.t.a.l.k.e.r., but if you wanna kill something in penumbra....get a big effin rock and hope to god it kills w/e.

Yea, im not the best with atmospheric, or anything around horror/fear.
I still havent beaten the game cause it scurrs me. Fear is a very personal thing. One thing can scare one person and not another. Its all up to what you can stand and what you cant stand.

i was scared shitless near the begining of the game where your in an icey room and you see a body laying on a stretcher then a big chill comes in the room through the vents and the screen gets all white then you turn around and the dam dude is right in your face

the 2nd part to freak me out was when you first get the shotgun and all the lights go off and your surrounded by a bunch of those guys....that part wasnt so scary but it made me jump a bit lol

Grow balls, play the game. You're just going to stay a ***** if you don't try anything new.
