Diablo 3???

I recently heard that blizzard its making diablo3... i couldn't be happier to hear this news lol. Been waiting for a while now, heard alot on april fools day but can't believe they actually make the game. and anyway,im totally dissapointed by the game...it looks like a revamped D2,and again no mmo.

i was expecting something 1 trillion times better from Blizzard,specially considering they had plenty of time...

Why would they make a diablo 3 mmo? It makes absolutely no sense. It would be World of Diablo vs World of Warcraft, blizzard would be competing against themselves which is never good in business. I am glad they kept it like the first two diablo games, that is the type of game diablo is and it should never change. Better graphics, new story, new time period, new classes, new skills, new items, better online play. It is a whole lot more than a revamped diablo 2 game.

we are talking about something that wasnt broke 10 years ago...its not fixing,its keeping up to date.
i was expecting a MMO with awesome 3d gfx,yet with the recognizable Diablo series touch . i tot if someone could do that,it would be Blizzard.

i really wonder whats in that game that couldnt be done with simply a big expansion to D2...

If diablo 3 was a mmo, yes, you would have some people buying it who didn't play wow. Most of the players I bet though would come from wow since making diablo 3 an mmo would make most diablo fans want to burn blizzard at the stake. Hence, they don't make as much money since most world of diablo players would be paying $15 a month for that instead of wow. Now, by keeping it like the old diablo games, you end up selling the game to the millions of diablo fans thereby making more money. That is why world of diablo is bad for blizzard and why it is better for them to make it like the first 2.

i'm very grateful that diablo didn't turn out to be an MMORPG. That would have been one serious instafail imo. I don't want another franchise going up the road of kiddies palace.

Like Junkyarddawg already said, there are 5 base classes (= Diablo 2 vanilla) in D3, it's only self explenatory that there will be additional classes with the first upcoming expansion pack.
It's a routine and they're sticking with it.

if you want something against D3, please do some effort to find something has actually makes sense

i agree noone wants just another WoW with diablo lore, but blizzard have run a successful MMO for quite a few years now,and could have translated all that experience they gathered into making a GOOD diablo mmo...

i see D3 as a wasted oportunity of taking the series to another level...when it was time to be brave,they took the cheap path. D3 is just a money drainer for the diehard fans,but brings absolutly anything new to the table...at least d2 was a step forward compared to d1 in many aspects.

why do you want it to be an mmorpg so badly? we have enough of them. The fact that D3 remains old skool makes it diffirent enough from the mainstream of MMORPG (clones) we have been seeing as of late.

D3 is everything but a money drainer, and especially not for Die Hard fans ...
Seriously, consider the fact that if you ask every diablo fan out there wether he or she wanted D3 like it is now or preferably D3 as an MMORPG, i reckon the awnser is self explenatory.

Everyone was waiting for the next installment of the game we loved so much 8 years ago, and blizzard kept a promise.
Diablo is one of the very few franchies where "don't fix it when it isn't broken" does the name good.
What if Diablo 3 were to be an MMORPG, it would be another typical grindfest with the end content of raiding, not to mention P2P. I am personally getting tired of having to pay for everything that is related to gaming.
Diablo 3 will the relief from the constant actual money draining (read: Diablo 3 MMORPG, now That would have been an actual money drainer).

Besides, deny it or not, but if Blizzard would have announced D3 MMORPG, i dare to bet half of the hall in Paris would be saying "wtf?". No one expects an MMORPG and it Doesn't always have to reinvent the genre. At least get that.
Again, the fact that it remains old skool is diffirentiating enough imo, for not following the hype of MMORPG's nowadays. Action RPG's are scarce as they are already.

im a diablo fan since D1,and i for one wanted a mmorpg =P
ionno,i was expecting it to be the biggest hit in the mmorpg history,and most probably i'd have changed WAR for it any day of the week.

now...nah,nowadays i dont feel like playing offline games with a ladder system.

and anyway i still think that the video we all saw was simply a God of War 2 clone...i might (hope) to be wrong,but the small portion of the game we saw didnt impress me much.

also, look at hellgate london. the game suffered from many flaws,but disregarding those, i'd have considered my expectatives fulfilled 100% if D3 looked like it,better executed obviously,ala Blizzard...dont you?

the barbarian is the Only reference to a possible similarity to god of war (being the seismic slam), you're quite eager to tear it down it seems.
No offense, but calling it a God of War clone is just calling it a clone for the sake of doing so.

In any case, why create an mmorpg? there is enough competition. With diablo 3 staying out of lines of the MMORPG competition it is a garantueed succes in the scarce genre it belongs too, the action rpg.

But tell me, why do you want it to look so much like other games (HGL)? Diablo is the next installment of an existing series and seems to stay faithful to the way of execution, gamestyle, gameplay and soforth. Why even change that?

Hellgate London is a full dynamic camera action RPG with full free movement while diablo is an isometric hack and slash action rpg, it's really that simple.
I stick to my opinion that more than half the community of Diablo-fans would have condemned blizzard if they made it into WoW 2 with a diffirent setting.

i'll make a poll, we'll see how many people would prefer an MMO over isometric. If MMORPG gets the winning number here, touché, but otherwise it only supports my point of view in this part of the Diablo community.

anyway,why are you so negative about a mmorpg? why is it that important to not touch a thing? to not update absolutly anything but gfx? why caring so much about the Diablo hardcore fans when you are given the chance to spread the game to broader audiences who werent appealed back then? if the game keeps the "Diablo" feel, hardcore fans should still play it...

as an old (and kinda aged) gamer im all for oldschool games,believe me. but when updates are done properly and for good,i also support them.

for example,if in 20 years from now virtual reality is a very common and widespread gaming tool, that top mmos use...will u still think that Diablo 6 must stick to isometric 2.5D to keep the brand system?
