Could be a change in water depth. there is more to an island than you see above water, so there would be more to be exposed.
Also look at the separation marks made by the waves and current going around the islands, wouldn't be there if they were floating.

10 miles, if only it ain't a bird's eye view kind of photography.. it would be an awesome sight to see, FLYING ISLAND~~~ and creeps at the same time.

The date and time that the imagery was gathered by the satellite was checked against local newspaper reports, but no mention of the incident could be found. Upon further investigation, it was ascertained that the final episode of the popular TV show 'American Idol' was airing at the time, which might explain the absense of eye-witness accounts of this unusual event.
I kinda lol'd.
maybe it's aliens using thier awesome terraforming technology to slowly destroy our planet.![]()
Where'd you get that image from? Because, from where I'm sitting, it's screaming PHOTOSHOP!

Reputation: 1151It looks like some shallow area of sand to me caused by the ocean current going east to west being blocked by the islands. Shadows need to be in contact with their point of origin if it's touching the surface of the earth.

I can tell from the pixels, and having seen quite a few shops in my time.
Or some meme like that.
(It's cool to say memes, right? I want to be cool!)
Anyway, it's a shop. Floating islands don't make sense.
