The clouds seem much too small and dissipated to form shadows like that. Plus, I doubt the translucency of a cloud can create shadows as dark as that.Originally Posted by Oisterboy

It could be the angle as well...
I dunno...when I look close, it looks like clouds to me. Thats the explanation I'm gonna stick with.

It looks like some shallow area of sand to me caused by the ocean current going east to west being blocked by the islands. Shadows need to be in contact with their point of origin if it's touching the surface of the earth.
