The title Lil' Wayne proclaims himself as is false. Hes a good rapper overall, but he isn't the best. What makes him only a 'good' rapper is that he says whatever comes to mind on a track. Like it was mentioned earlier, he never writes sh*t down. Better rappers take the time to write down what they say, and edit it to their wants. I admit, he has a lot of good metaphors and similes, but when it comes down to it; hes just an average rapper than knows how to grab the audiences attention.
Personally, I don't know why Rap is popular. Some people listen to it cause they want to be cool, others listen to it cause they understand and actually appreciate it. Its more than just bitches, money, and cars; That's just brag Rap. There's also serious Rap, then theres gun talk Rap. Some people enjoy how rappers brag about their Louis bags, Gucci glasses, money, bling, all that. Others like it cause what some of these rappers say make them go "oh sh*t, that was hot" or "damnnn", you know.
I, myself, love Rap. Not because I want to be cool, but just because I enjoy the type of music.
What it all comes down to is..
Where you come from, Ferrel, Rap is highly appreciated down there. They made a variation of it called "Chopped and Screwed" music. Personally, I don't like it, but I'll respect them for what they like.
