just played a bit of Atlantica Closed Beta

well fileplanet was giving away free pre-closed beta keys to all suscribers so i checked that out.....heres my short review

graphics-7/10
the graphics aren't that bad but they're not great either its somewhat on the same level as silkroad online but without as much textures.....while playing you experience a lot of empty areas which would get you kind of bored while playing.

gameplay-6.5/10
the combat is actually pretty good since it feels a lot like a classic console rpg and you dont see that kind of combat a lot now a days but it also has a strategic feel to it(i wont go into details about that so i wont spoil it for people). the only reason i gave gameplay a 6.5 was because i only enjoyed the combat, exploring areas was so boring since my character moved slow and the areas are so empty and dull...the only thing i encountered when on the road was enemies....but then again i guess it was sorta boring since there wasnt much people on at the time.

final verdict- 6.5/10
other than the battles this game feels and plays just like your average mmo...nothing special, nothing new just a bunch of recycled parts from other games.....once you get tired of the battles theres not much else to play the game for...but then again who am i to judge, like i always say to each his own...so if you like it have fun, though i doubt many of you will.

hmm i dont know still i will NEVER again quote that ******ed phrase "omg its beta give it a chance" but i think if thats all you have to say about it it cant be that bad then.

Battles are good + battles are turn based major ++++++

empty areas ill have to see what u mean by this myself i saw a video i think i get what u mean.

Characters moving slow can actually be changed easily when in beta so thats ok

But tbh a 6.5-8 rating for an f2p mmorpg thats turnbased is kinda good enuff for me id love to see a more detailed review though thanks for the thread ^^

I don't think you can really rate the combat this early.... Have you tried fighting in a full party with full mobs in really tough areas with full mercenaries on each player?

Those battles looked pretty intensive from the videos.

Have you tried ALL the classes and all the combinations of all the mercenaries and the heroes with all their abilities and skills?

He never really claimed his review to be in depth, he pretty much just said it's his first impression. I dont see anything wrong with his review, its up to his own tastes, and he didn't claim any drastic faults with the game. I'm still looking forward to the game just as much as i was before i read his review. Like he said, to each his own.

But when you read "just played a bit of Atlantica" and you see the word "review" in a first impact opinion you go "wtf..."

I know he was stating only his opinion, but Onrpg has this tradition with first impressions being wrongly labeled as reviews by those giving them

He still has no basis to do a review, as for "a"/his opinion, I got nothing against it either...I'm playing the Korean version, I know what to expect.

I'm just pointing out that labeling it as a review is wrong since he has to explore the game a lot deeper.

thanks for the little review dude but for god's sake it's pre-CB you cant really judge it too much right now
