Depends what you like honestly. Most Japanese music is no different than music that we have, it's just in a different language.
Anyway the most enjoyable albums for me were the contemporary, to the jazz, and to the techno.
Ergo Proxy has a good sound track, so does Cowboy Bebop and last, but certainly not least, The Big-O sound track which is orchestra mixed in with jazz.
