    Default Can't get a job -.-

Okay so first of all let me say that i have no work experience and no one wants to hire me so yeah... i can't really gain any experience.

I applied to 3 different gamestops, starbucks, macy, wegmans(a food chain like shoprite but better), and a few more places. I have a High School diploma and i'm starting college this fall. I speak 3 languages(and 2 computer languages), i have great communication skills and i'm a people person. Can anyone please tell me what the hell am i doing wrong?

Do you have a resume? You can point out that you speak 3 languages and you're pretty much good to go, especially in customer service.

These are not really places that ask for a resume, more like fill out this application and we will call you up for an interview.

A follow up phone call usually helps too. Lets them know you're actually interested in the job instead of some random guy applying to all the jobs he can.

A lot of teen are having trouble finding jobs. Most are being taken by adults who lost their jobs. Just keep trying I'm sure you'll find one.

This is just a bad year for jobs. Especially if you don't have boobs.

Have you ever tried writing the application neatly with blue or black ink and for experience anything like yardwork for parents or mow the lawn for the neighbors also to write any reference but not your parents?
You should also dress neatly while in the interview with no jewelry and answer the questions clearly.
Thank the employers after then and a follow up call would be nice too.
Thank you cards are recommended but don't bring anyone to the interview.
Yeah i do write my application neatly in ink and when they ask for experience they mean real job experience. I just went to an interview today, i had a shirt+pants on and at the end i did say thank you but i was left with a big sorry no experience=no go.

well, yeah getting a job is a pain nowadays... but if you know someone/friends who works at the place u want to work for, getting a job there will be 100x easier, especially if u dont have any real work experience yet... sounds like cheating, but that's what happening...

btw check this site: craigslist.org... i got my current summer job there

Finding a job is easier if you intern first. Just walk into a company with a resume and say that you're interested in an internship and they'll give you a job (some internships aren't paid but they'll pay you next summer).

Bingo.. I'm 22 and can't keep a job, so sometimes I have to apply for "lesser" or jobs for newer workers.. I'm not very smart or skilled and have OCD with some other problems I'm not going into.. Anyway just keep at it.. Do the follow up calls and make sure to look nice/ask questions and get your face known when you're filling out the application.

There is such a thing as over-qualified for a job, I'm sure that could be your answer for a couple places and other places just aren't hiring. It's really tough in my area too! =[
