i know this may be in the wrong section and im sorry. but, seriously i was going to post in rpg section and i saw this thing my friend made 1 month ago still there, same number sof posts.

i have a problem with half life 2 no steam. it says cannot get ifilesystem from ifilefactory, i looked on the internet, i found nothing. im keen on playing this game. does anyone have any solutions to my problem? and what is the ifilefactory? maybe if you file share your ifilefactory over msn will it work? im not sure, but please. someone help me? to be correct it reads, Unable to get ifilesystem interface from ifilesystem factory.

maybe u should buy half life instead of downloading it? Or hell even buy it from steam website if u dont want to get out of your house

how the **** is it a trap? i cant get the ifilesystem from the ifilefactory! ive searched alot and downloaded some stuff related to the ifilefactory, i got no results except for 2 viruses which were deleted (virus checky thingo)

i bought the bloody game! it just wont access the ifilefactory! plus im aussie it wud take me forever to download the game...and my mum turns the internet off at night... *sigh* i got a vista laptop aswell,,,

well i just bought the game about 2 days ago, i bought it from steam. i got it as a stand alone (without any other games or mods)

Im pretty sure you still gotta play hl2 through steam even if you bought the game standalone and especially if you bought it from steam.

if you bought legitly and you didnt get a code for activation, means you got scammed

and you would be better off in steam forums

edit: standalone might mean you only got acces to half life 2, and nothing else, wich imo you wouldve been better off buying it at your local gameshop, you wouldve gained acces to source sdk base at least and then you could use modded servers and stuff (note; half life 2 deathmatch is free now, without sorce sdk base tho)
