At school my class is doing a assignment on the "Renaissance" what we have to basically do is choose a topic, and give a oral presentation (15 Minutes) and teach the class something.

The topic I chose is Art, and what I'm focusing on is Leonardo Da Vinci, and MichelAngelo.

Now here comes the problem, what I need to know is.

What significance did Art basically have during the Renaissance?
And how can I compare it now (modern).
And if Art didn't exist, would it effect anything today?

Help appreciated. Thanks.
Art helped the lower class ascend to the middle class. It was a changing point in history. For the first time in the history of art perspective was introduced to the canvas.

Compare it todays revolutionary artists using weird techniques. Research a few modern pop-artists.

If art didn't exist, there would be no middle class. There would be a huge divide.

I could go on for ages, but I don't want to write the presentation for you.
