Default Anyone fail their road test the first time?

I took the road test thinking it was going to be easy so I didn't practice much, and then I failed it back on July 10th. I wouldn't care as much if I didn't live in a state where you can only take the road test with a third party company (simply put, its expensive). It's $45 to take the damn test. In other states where you can take it right at the DMV, it only costs like $10 and you get 3 attempts to do it. So I've actually been practicing a lot lately, but I'm still nervous about it, and I'm afraid I might fail it again. Even though I barely failed it last time I took it (I got 30 points, and you need 25 or under to pass). When I took it, I wasn't doing hand over hand turning, and I turned into the wrong lane half the time and I didn't use my mirrors during the whole test except when changing lanes, and I stopped too close to other cars, and I didn't even use the acceleration lane getting on the highway, and I went too fast on the exit, and went in the right lane of the exit when he told me to turn left. I did all that stuff wrong, but I still only barely failed it. I fixed all those problems, but for some reason I'm still scared I'm going to fail it for doing something stupid. Right now I just want my license more than anything because I've been thinking about it constantly, and if I can get my license it'll be a huge relief and I can finally relax and stop thinking about it.

    any tips?
*Signals on every turns, changing lanes, and pulling in or out of a driveway/curb/etc
*Check mirrors and speed limit, as well as signs and what not. Also speed up/slow down when entering/exiting a highway(shouldn't have to worry about that since you don't go on highway for road test)
*Always come to a complete stop at stop signs and make sure to never floor it or stop suddenly when at a stop sign/light.

    *Practice K turns
    *Practice parallel parking

Yes you do. If you don't then you're lucky and got a ******ed instructor like my friend. All my friend did was drive to KFC, buy the guy a bucket of chicken, and then drive back to where he started. I would have taken the road test with that guy, but the secretary of state found out he was practically giving licenses away and they didn't let him do road tests anymore.

Also drive 5 miles under the speed limit during your test.
Yeah i think that's how it is =x
In New Jersey you don't go on highways, just small roads.

I didn't pass, but the guy told me everything I did wrong. Just remember to use your mirrors a lot especially when coming to a stop you should look in your rear view mirror. And look both ways when going through an intersection and remember to look over your shoulder when you're changing lanes. And uhh...make sure you do hand over hand turning. I thought I would fail from getting an automatic failure, but no...I failed for doing a bunch little things wrong that most people don't even do anymore after they get their license.
ye, please dont do those and kill yourself, tell me how it goes.

Aww, your avatar is so sad!

Anyway, I'm hoping I pass mine the first time through. I'm fine with driving, but God knows its easy to break some stupid little rule. That, and, they have me drive through the city near by...I live in a tiny town, testing me in the city is hardly fair. I'll be fine there though

I know friends who have failed it 3 or 4 times, most of the time because of something dumb. I wouldn't worry yourself about it too much. Just don't PLAN on getting it your first time. Don't be like 'OK EVERYONE I'M DRIVING US ALL TO THE MOVIES TONIGHT AFTER MY ROAD TEST'...because then you'll have to be like "Sorry guys, I failed". Just don't tell anyone before you take it, and then you're not embarrassed if you fail!

I passed the first time but I made a lot of errors. I don't think its quite safe for me to be driving on roads by myself so I'll just avoid it until I get more practice.
That's a fair judgement, but to be frank, I think that if, despite all the errors you made, your instructor still gave you a pass, then you should be good.
