Writing lyrics.

I have, damn, writers block.
A few songs need to be done by next week, but I can't see to write one.
When I think of a good idea and start to write it down, a song which already exists flows through my mind and I completely lose track of what my idea was.

Theres not alot of things I can do, but gimme some pointers for over-coming this shit.

The process of songwriting is personal, there's probably not a tried and true formula that works for everyone. (not the actual standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus then outro, I mean the thought of what goes into them) Do you have a melody or a theme to bounce the lyrics off of? That could help a lot, I like to listen to all types of music with other music playing or on low volume and let my imagination do the rest. Try to reserve songwriting in the back of your head and wait until inspiration hits.

Even you don't have any idea, just write. That's one thing I learned from a friend before (and what pg6 also says). Sometimes you just need to set your mood like going to the park, staying in your room... watching people. As you said, the idea is there. You just need that certain mood to really write somethin

I usually write to music and that helps me but if i get stuck i just do something else. Sometimes you can just let your mind solve a problem on it's own. A lot of times the answer you are looking for is really simple.

I write, also. I feel your pain sometimes too, Pulse. You have to have a certain mindset and just focus. Know your topic and what you what to write about. Be confident. That's a big one. Then after that, it's anything that your brain can concur up.

Lol I can't write without my friends near me xD So much fun that sometimes suddenly something serious comes up in my mind and most of the time it's a song xD Wich I almost forget right away most of the time >_> Or else I could have written a few books xD

Ah. I have something serious to contribute now. When I watch certain movies, it makes me feel creative (usually in a drawing sense, but sometimes writing). Maybe something like that could work for you.
