    Default Ugh.Help me.

So I've had an Xbox 360 since December 07. I don't know why but IT KEEPS OVERHEATING!? It started happening this summer I think, June. I've gone to the Xbox forums and read the support section. Ive made sure its on its side, and the ventilation holes are not being blocked. Ive left it alone for 24 hours and I turn it back on. I cant even get through 1 game of Call of Duty 4 before it overheats. Anyone have tips?

Or just simply put a fan in it.

Also check the surface and location etc.

    How long do you play?
Is it in an open space (the 360)?

I don't want to suggest this, but get an intercooler. The 360 is a frying pan without one. Or even a fan.

I have an intercooler. The nyko brand one and it seems that when I plug it in the back, it overheats quicker It overheats quicker with a fan near it or the intercooler on it.

Usually about 2-3 hours a day maybe and yes its in open space. Surrounded by nothing but air.

Well I think it's time you dug that reciept out and take it back.

Open up your Xbox 360. My PC has no panels at all and the amount of dust it gathers is bearable when considering how much cooler it is.

Yes, it is just a bunch of compenents.

You could try the towel trick, but it's dangerous.

Yeah I remember Bioshock users having issues playing for more than a few hours before it overheated. You'd expect a fix by now but eh just put a fan in it.
