dude... piracy was here (though very little of it) durring the acient greece period (750BC-146BC)... they would board roman trading fleet using cutlass'. pirates were much more common durring the 1700s. primative muskets were developed in the 1000s by the chinese (if i remember right) so they would be using bronze cutlass'...

can i see the source on where you found that pirates were arround for 5 millenia from this date? i can find no history of pirates before the acient greece era.

it is believed that the pyramids were built during 3200BC...
