Anyways , I'm I have been wondering about alantica and its sucess , do you guys realy think the markets ready for this game ? Realy all we have gotten are grinders lately to get a good RTS .. Well honestly I do not believe we are ready as a comunity for it. To many people wont try it because they have to use there petite minds. Opinions ?

Atlantica is the type of game that is for those ppl who dare to explore new genre of the gaming world. Whether they like it or hate it, only after playing the game then u'll be able to know it. As for those who still thinks those Epic MMOs a few yrs back still the best games even until now would probably be some1 who couldnt accept the fact that the world has changed and newer stuffs are being introduced and starting to become the "in" thing now.
FF and WoW were good. WERE is the word here. Times have changed and being good for these 2 games have become a past. Look at every new mmo that have emerged to the gaming world now, its either alot of ppl will say "OMG another WoW replica." or "This game sux as it cant be compared to WoW, FF etc etc". Atlantica took a brave step forward as Nothing compared to those 2 epic mmos of the past. Altho there are lots of turned based mmos like TS, Fairyland, and some others, but those were abit on the cartoon side so not that many ppl are attrated to it. As for Atlantica, the artwork does not look like cartoon which is a plus point for them comparing to other turn base mmos cos this will more or less draw some attention from adult gamers who doesnt like cartoon artwork.
Whether it will go far or not its still too early to find out cos its still early in the beta phase and not everything has been implemented to it yet. Next patch they will probably be bringing in the mount system as i've seen in the video from mmosite and some other intense dungeons of the undead. I'm now only awaiting for their aging system to be implemented as i would very much like to know how long will a merc last b4 i have to use an anti aging item from the mall. If the item has to be used within a month, i would say Atlantica is an epic failure, if its within 3 months, i would say the game will definately make it far.
Can't possibly imagine the cost of spending if i'll need to anti-age 8 mercs at lvl 50 if they die within 1 real life month but after calculating 1 day = 1 game month, 1 month would probably mean 2 1/2 yrs. Well seems like not too bad to me after all.

the thing about Atlantica is that all the other turn based MMOs were grinders, whereas Atlantica almost plays more like a CRPG where you go through an area, get some story, fight a boss, get new party members, then basically repeat that process with a new dungeon and boss, I'm guessing theres probably even some climatic final boss at the end. Basically the game plays more like a CRPG that just happens to be online then your typical grinders that just about every other MMO is.

Not true,some more resemble flaming piles of ***** matter, there are a couple good ones, or were. Dungeon Runners is ALRIGHT but not a true mmo. And the premium content costs,which i don't touch. Not being cheap just the fact that their servers are a little dated for them to charge for content on it. If they fix the issue sure i'd pay. PSO BB is free now too as it no longer has official licensing or support. Atlantica is not horrible but i didn't play enough to declair it stellar,it DOES successfully make the squad+turn based system seem fresh again but so did FFXI until the very next mmo came out.
note:don't be hasty,dungeon runners is in a sense mmo but everything but lobbies being instanced it's more of a small team that meets new members in hulls around the site like GW, it just does it better as it's also comedic.

i wouldnt fully agree with u on this. I do admit some f2p mmos are really garbage with no content in them, but there are also some which really stands out and not just Atlantica alone, there are still some older mmos which are still worth playing and they're f2p.
In fact, i even find some p2p mmos are garbage which are not even worth paying at all. Don't wana start an aguement in this tread therefor i wont name those p2p games that i find its garbage. Lots of fanboys in this forum lol.
