Tech halp?

Yessir, I need some tech help. I have this brand new ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card. Is it any good? My Dad brought it home from work, and it looks really nice (judging a graphics card by its look, meh.)

And I also have about $100 to spend on my computer, and I was wondering: what should I buy? I only have 512mb of RAM (yes, don't laugh at me >_<). Should I buy some more? (the obvious answer is yes, but I need a pro to tell me thats what I should do lol). Where can I find what kind of RAM I need? A website would be helpful.

Thanks to whoever can help me, and don't laugh at my pitiful computer. I'm upgrading it lol.

Ok, my Dad originally thought it was a 9200, but he said that was a guess. He pulled it out of a machine from work that was purchased from a guy new in 2006, and he's calling someone right now to find out exactly what card it is. Sorry for the misinformation, but I'll get back to you and tell you exactly what it is. My Dell (yes, once again, don't laugh), is the exact same kind that he got the card from, so compatibility won't be an issue.

I'll get this cleared up and then inquire your help again. Thanks though for telling me, I wouldn't have asked him if you guys hadn't sparked my curiosity.

It should say the model on the card itself. If not plug it in and let dxdiag tell you what type of card it is.

read the manafacture label on the card or look around on it for model number etc they are always engraved in there somewhere

That often only works if you already have the drivers installed, and you need to know what the card is to install the drivers in the first place.



But yea, like said look around on the card. There should be something that identifies it on the card, either on a sticker on the card or printed directly onto the card itself.
