This news was reported by Worldofwar.net:
It’s been months since there was any news on Blizzard’s planned live action Warcraft movie, so fans may be forgiven for thinking the project had been put on hold.
However, Blizzard community manager Nethaera put our minds at rest earlier by assuring everyone the film was still under way.
She also reminded everyone of the basic format of the movie, which was unveiled and discussed at BlizzCon 2007, nearly 18 months ago. Amongst other details, an extremely high res and detailed piece of concept art for the movie was shown (see inset).
During a panel at BlizzCon 2008, Blizzard’s Chris Metzen (the guy behind most of WoW’s lore) was quizzed about the movie and any updates that he might have. Sadly, he remained very tight-lipped about it, and would only confirm that it’s still in production but it’s all top secret.
Read Nethaera’s earlier comments after the break:
We are in fact working on a movie with Legendary Pictures, but we don’t have any new information to share with everyone just yet. At the 2007 BlizzCon, we even had a special panel with a little bit about the plans for the film. I’m sure you can find video on it or reports on it.
Just as an additional informational bit, it will be Live Action.
I’m quite sure there will be plenty of action, but there’s a story to be told too. I couldn’t tell you more though.
