Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep Soundtrack Announces Live Theatrical Experience

inXile Entertainment and Ged Grimes of Simple Minds announced today that “The Bard’s Tale Video Game Music Live” is coming to Glasgow Scotland. This is a one-of-a-kind concert and theatrical experience featuring music, gameplay and live acting from The Bard’s Tale video games. Taking place one night only on January 31, 2019, at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, Scotland as part of Celtic Connections 2019. The Bard’s Tale Video Game Music Live will feature musical performances of more than a dozen songs from The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep soundtrack backed Scotland’s finest traditional musicians. The Bard’s Tale Game Music Live is hosted by John Buick, voice of Rabbie, leader of the Adventurer’s Guild in Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep. Musical performances by many of Scotland’s finest singers and musicians including Ged Grimes (Simple Minds), Kathleen MacInnes, Fiona Hunter, Eilidh Cormack, Kim Carnie, Gregor Philp (Deacon Blue), Ali Hutton, Innes White, Mairi Chambeul, Martin O’Neill, Brian McAlpine and more.

The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep soundtrack has earned universal acclaim. It featured original tunes and Scotland’s Gaelic folk singers led by Ged Grimes of Simple Minds. Music is one of the game’s core pillars,  and the following video explores how inXile’s decision to ground the series in a Scottish-inspired setting opened up an unprecedented opportunity to build a world as alive musically as it is visually. Musicians featured in game share their excitement about being able to bring this part of Scottish culture to so many people.
