Fallout 3 Review – The Wasteland Revisited

REVIEW

Two years have passed since Fallout 3 graced store shelves after six years in development. Hailed as Game of the Year by many media outlets, the high level of anticipation was thankfully met with a stunning interactive gameplay experience that dripped with atmosphere. After much initial scepticism and fans labelling the game as "Oblivion with guns", Developers Bethesda had their work cut out to mould a modern video game that pushed the boundaries for interactive entertainment, whilst appealing to diehard fans of the lauded games that came before. Sales of over five million and critical acclaim across the board prove that they succeeded, whilst the game itself silenced those that protested a heavy similarity with Bethesda's previous title. Oblivion with guns? Fallout 3 is anything but.

The Rise and Fall of Star Wars Galaxies

REVIEW

You have probably heard of Star Wars Galaxies. Released back in 2003, Sony Online Entertainment created the very first MMORPG based around George Lucas' epic space saga.

Razer Naga Molten Special Edition Review: Get Imba

REVIEW

When the original Razer Naga was released last year, people questioned how a mouse with 16 buttons would perform. Would 12 buttons under your thumb be an advantage or a hindrance? Our Editor  Tully swears by the improvement to his MMO gaming that his Naga has given him, now it’s time to see if the same will happen to me.

Rangers Land Review: Heya Cowboy!

REVIEW

In terms of historicalinterest, what I think is the most interesting time in American history is the period of the new frontier where Cowboys were the "heroes" of the west. It never crossed my mind that a game could be created following this format till Rangers Land.

City of Heroes MetaÂ’s Verse: Winter

REVIEW

Winter is a special, magical time of year. Snowballs are flung at friends, ski chalets are open for business, and giant snow creatures roam the city terrorising citizens. Well, this would be true if you lived in the City of - universe. Every year brings about new frosty dangers for the citizens of Paragon City, the Rogue Isles and this year Praetoria. But not everything winter has to offer is bad. There are candy canes, skiing slopes and badges galore.

The World of The Living Dead Preview

REVIEW

With all the games centered on zombie apocalypses going around, I cannot say that I was surprised hearing about a browser game that shares the same theme. The World of The Living Dead is a free-to-play MMO browser game that puts you in charge of a group of people, helping them survive the undead horde. This is not just your average Left for Dead or Dead Rising survival mode, and it does not revolve completely around getting more ammo and shooting down lifeless brain eaters. The World of The Living Dead lets players feel the intensity of having to enter a world contaminated with zombies, where you, as an agent of NECRA (National Emergency Control and Relief Agency) must rescue survivors, while ensuring their safety.

League of Legends: I’m Dreaming of a Scaly Christmas

REVIEW

Welcome to this first official column about League of Legends; The game in which political disputes a settled by a bizarre assortment of misfits slaughtering one another between harvesting gold from midgets. If this is the way policies and laws are decided in Runeterra, it makes our mundane politics look extremely boring (and time consuming) by comparison.

Tales of Fantasy Review: Awaken The Warrior Within

REVIEW

Since MMOs nowadays offer nothing but repetitive content and generic gameplay, you'll probably need to try out a lot of different titles to find the MMO experience you've been waiting for. If so, then should Tales of Fantasy be in your to-try-list? After seeing the trailer, I could not help but feel hyped over the idea of mounted combat. Since mounts have been nothing more than a fast travelling aid in various MMOs, it was quite refreshing to see players fight while on the backs of their fast moving horses. Tales of Fantasy is a free to play MMORPG that features a broad 3D world where players can travel while immersing themselves further in the game's questing storyline. It also features open PVP, as well as a handful of other things that may appeal to most gamers today. The question is, does Tales of Fantasy have enough features to outlast today's MMOs? Let's see, shall we?

HEAT Online Review : Casual MMO Racer

REVIEW

HEAT Online is a free MMO racing game that offers  players a ton of different game modes and the ability to customize your car so it can be truly, your car. If you're looking for a racing game for casual play, HEAT Online is for you. If you're looking for a competitive racing game, HEAT Online is still a great choice. It has an awesome rating system in which you lose more in a loss than you gain in win giving it the competitive feel.

Erebus: Travia Reborn Review – The Forces of EEEVIL Beckons

REVIEW

Erebus: Travia Reborn is a free-to-play action-packed MMORPG with a dark feel. Published by Outspark, the game resembles a modern day Diablo with all the familiar elements from the classic. The game is actually more of a re-casting of the first Travia game, this time with more features and add-ons to please both new and long-time players (bet they're all doing happy backflips by now). The game is more hack n' slash, but the player population states that a lot of people really love this game. So what makes Erebus different from other hack n' slash games? Or better yet, what makes Erebus Online stand out as an MMO?
