Thank you for the article. I was also surprised at Eliot’s reaction. He does ask for feedback at the end of each of his articles and he does mention City of Heroes on a semi-regular basis so I’m not sure why this ‘tip’ got such a negative reaction(and really, 4 months is not that long). Oh well, it brings the game into the spotlight though in a slightly negative connotation but hopefully it highlights “appreciate what you have now”.

And ugggghhhh, so close yet so far with one signature away. QQ

I’m trying other MMOs but my wallet will be ever ready, if not for the game itself then at least the for IP if it comes back in some form.

**I missed the confetti part of that ‘discussion’. That is funny. 🙂

I’ve received approval to get it back. We have a few issues with MMOHut’s game list our engineer is hashing out first but this will be next on our project list.

K we’ll have a new filter button on the page by this time next week. We’ve also restored it to the primary game list and will be adding one to our sister site MMOHut’s list as well. Thanks again for the feedback.

As a veteran (ex)player, I should perhaps add that the con listed as “waiting time” is not exactly accurate. The more accurate statement is that every turn takes one hour, no matter what. As experienced 4x gamers will know, the time needed per turn varies wildly. True, the first turns are exceedingly slow, but as you get more successful and command an empire of hundreds (or even thousands) of planets, dozens of fleets and wage war on multiple fronts, it can quickly turn into a nigh full-time occupation. This disparity of effort required is actually a real issue that they never addressed while I was playing. To add to that; the much mentioned manual will be found to be inaccurate and out of date with tweaks being made to the game. This, put together with the interface, tends to scare people away. That is a pity, because once you get on top of the interface and start to understand what you’re doing, it can suck you in like no other game, and it’s fun as hell.

I talked to the GM and interacted with them on fb. I got feedback pretty fast and problems all got solved. I have to say I’ll give good review for their team, no matter for the in-game GM or customer service people. In terms of the in-game economy, they said they are working on that and i think we’ll see the difference in the obt.

GoA recently updated to the 4.1 patch which out dates as many sites the reviews posted about the game as the vast majority of the negative feed back about the game have been address. Things such as free mounts have been added along with level up rewards in the way of gear. All of the item upgrade cash shop items can be gotten by completion of pretty simple quests or dropped off of boss mobs in the game. Game Forge made great steps in helping new players cover the gap between old and new players.

Several new features have been add including a pet system, new dungeons and revamping of old ones. Level up rewards, quicker leveling, more available cash shop items from quests, cash shop items now trade-able and much more.

If your a PvE players Gates of Andaron will bore you in short order. If PvP is your style this is the game for you. Simply put this game is on par with the vast majority of pay to play games. With a daily PvP fight for forts in 4 zones, then a faction vs faction fight on Saturday night and concluding on Sunday with 4 castles wars. Once a month there is also a tourney for singles of each class, an open division and then group tourney 7 vs 7. On top of that doc wars happen each hour for control of loot and experience bonuses.

This is what is cool in this game is you don’t need to be always connected or always looking the game and playing to get through Of course you need to lvlup which got very simplified in the previous patches we got, but after that, you can only give a boost in the evening/night at the Area Conquest or Castle Wars for Sunday both pvp ”event”) There is also a war every hours in Odd or Even Documents, depending on your levels. Need to discovers that by yourself.

This game is one of the best pvp centered games around. This is not a key smasher game where it involves no skill, skill will determine the outcome of duels, battles, and wars.
If you like PVP games, come try GOA out and join a good guild that you can learn with and pvp with. It is also a challenge to develop your character. I have been playing the game for almost 4 years, and I still don’t have the gear I want to end up with. Does it come easy? Nope, but there are ways to get competitive quick and have fun in the PVP aspect of GOA.
Do not try this game if: You like PvE more than PVP, you will not spend the time to develop your character’s gear (or wont spend money in the cash shop) and are just looking for handouts, you like key smashing games that involves no skill.

I’ve been playing GOA for 2 years this month. And I think its only gotten better and better. Yes,some people complain about change, just cuz they dont like change. But 2 months later they stop complaining cuz they actually liked the changes once they got use to them. One of the changes I like the most since the 4.1 patch is the KETERIC coins. You can earn these by doing daily quests. And you can do 3 things with these coins. You can save them and buy a totally cool Spider Mount. It is wicked looking for sure. Or if the mount is not your cup fo tea, you can trade the coins for Endendros coins which can then be cashed in for bonus points to get stuff for free in the bonus points section of the cash shop. And 3rd you can save them and use them to buy +18 pvp gear that last for 14 days. Since each person has the ability to do these quests and earn approx. 7 to 10 coins each day. By the time your a level 20 you would have enough to get your 1st piece of gear. Within 5 days you would have enough to get another piece and so on and so on. You can actually keep yourself in +18pvp gear by simply doing your daily quests. NO MONEY is involved to get that gear, just your time and effort. I sure wish they had that 2 years ago when I was wearing gear looted off of monsters. 🙂

I laugh when people say I can’t get good gear. REALLY??? Between +16 rental gear that cost silver, comp level 34 +16 gear that are dungeon drops from the 2 big dungeons that sell for silver in the auction house or in private stores and the ability to do your daily quests to earn Keteric coins to get +18pvp gear I’m thinking, man you new guys ARE SO LUCKY!!!!!! Get your butt in here and lets play!!!

It’s kinda sad that people are rating this so high before it’s even out. Anyone who has seen the gameplay video can tell that the game is horrible, and a shame to the entire series. The ratings are very misleading and onRPG should only allow games to be rated if they are actually released.

Crytek sadly pulled back their their previous remark in their official press release for MHO, stating the the game is ONLY confirmed to be released in China, which sucks. I’m still hoping that we’ll end up getting MHO in the states, though. Tencent games has been looking to break into the Western gaming market for quite some time, and this could be a very good title to start with.

Cheaters abused the silver, gold and artifact bug before the game was able to do a maintenance, no roll back was made and the newly launched server are now greatly unbalanced.

Played this game for about two weeks now. It’s a very odd mixture of hate and love about this game. You’ll have the annoying players who enjoy annoying other players by interrupting them for hours. Then you’ll have the part where there is so much to do it’s not really about earning the max gear and do raids at the end. Though the cash shop and the way they set the VIP system it makes you really want to just spend that money to make things easier (death row would be much easier if you paid). The game overall is good but for sure there are things in the game makes you want to yank your hair out.

The article is well written and factual. The game has so many opportunities for individuals as well as investor groups. I have played the game continually for the past 3 1/2 years. I have done all three of the main professions (crafting, mining, & hunting) and feel that hunting is a great place for a new player to start out with their avatar. From this profession you can talk with others, join a society and learn about mining and than crafting. Some activities in the game will cost PED (project entropia dollars) and some will earn PED for you. More than likely you will need to find a balance to fund your activities but rest assured your visual experience, social activities and interest in the game dynamics will keep you coming back time and time again.

I am part of BIG Industries and Entropia Life http://universe.entropialife.com We have created this site as a guide to help new players enter the game and learn the complexity of what Entropia Universe has to offer players from around the world. The possibilities are endless and we are pleased to announce a player sponsored event where we are giving back $100,000 Project Entropia Dollars (PED) to Entropia Universe players. May 1st – June 15th 2013. The $10,000 USD that is being given out in PED is a direct result of hard work and dedication to the player base that gives so much to the community. We hope to see everyone from seasoned veterans to new avatars enjoy everything that this game has to offer!

Gamer beware…….Grepolis is a browser based game…..where people pay to win or to get superior advantage in what is a free to play browser game

paying cash significantly enhances the user experience…..& it can get relatively expensive in relation to going out & buying the latest PC game release
especially if you are playing for the long haul

Their is a MMO format to the community that has a different number of worlds to operate in

Gameplay is relatively slow to build without cash 100% twice as long
+ their are other premium enhancements that generate
larger economies,
favour
or battle strength
These all give the premium cash user advantage*

*NB many premium advantages can be nullified by Terms of service breakers

Graphics may look outdated with Still action clips & computer generated results

Sad point of fact is joining an already established world in Grepolis is

other players have first runner advantage & may have multiple bases / polis & belong to a large clan & are often hungry to pray on new players the “noob”

beginner protection lasts a few days thereafter its open season

it is possible to be attacked 24hrs a day 7 days a week around the clock in this RTS…trying to keep up with the jones”s could prove costly

Even though Its one account per player……. ROFL
……Players use multiple accounts/ shared logins/ Laptop accounts to combat you
so if you play fair you may already be at a disadvantage

abuse by in game PM does take place ..their is a private message block facility…. chances are you have gone through lots of abusive messages to find this out……little or no action is taken against the abusers which amounts to on-line cyberbullying at least ( for this reason I would consider guidance to u-18 or vunerable users with protected characteristics )

……Terms of service can & are broken by many players…….do not expect justice from the CMs its profits before people everytime……Innogames say they want you to enjoy your gaming experience……It is unfortunate there are factions that throw more gold at this game than fort knox…..& even if you are lucky enough to be accepted into an experienced clan the caveat is you may need to be logged in 24hrs a day to protect your on-line gaming assets against Terms of service breakers
& if you are a premium game client that has purchased Gold to enhance your experience this can still easily be nullified or curtailed by a player that is using multiple (not allowed according to Terms of service) accounts

In Summary
Tentatively its a pay to win format (however that is no guarantee)
Clan membership is paramount (safety in numbers)
in all games there are Terms of service breakers

Grepolis has players in multiple worlds that are present with one goal
to stop you enjoying your time on-line….they appear to go to any means to do this!!…most acceptable & some genius

…..some most unacceptable and treated as a mere minor inconvenience to a large faction that may or may not lose a player running multiple accounts & joint forces

Unless you are prepared to dedicate a large amount of time to this browser game
around the clock you may find that you are merely building up for someone else
to take over

That then leaves the question……… Do you control the “Game” ?

or does the “Game” control you

As always the choice is yours

well Alex, there you are wrong. This game can be played for no or little money. If you put the money you would pay for playing some other MMO out there with a monthly subscription into the game, it is very possible to play and enjoy this game. It is however very different then any other MMO out there and you should not expect to have uber skills and gear in a few weeks (or even months or years). Sure people put a lot of money into the game if they have it, but there is a playing style for people that don’t do that as well.

Actually razer I’ve played this game for years, and you can play it without money ONLY if you want to sweat for literally years, and after that still have nothing to show for it, because there is nothing else to do, if you try to go somewhere you will keep getting killed because you have no armor, or alternatively if you had armor burn up all your money trying to repair it for the same reason. When you say something make sure you actually know what you’re talking about because clearly in this case you don’t.

I feel like I’ve finally found an MMO to call home again in FF14:ARR

Wow , really 2/5 graphic wise , when it actually looks way better than all the mmo’s out there. Doesn’t looks like a fair description of the game to me. Lack of objectivity?

I’ve read the article carefully , and the disadvantages you stated concerning it , could be said about Diablo 3 , which , in most of the gaming websites had a mark of 18/20.

I’ve to say that the game does not really require an actual skill form the player so as to get to level cap , and run most instances/kill high end bosses , so one of the weak points would be that Neverwinter is not challenging at all ( So if you are looking for challenges , this is not for you , walk away.)

But , again , isn’t it a little out-dated to say that easy leveling is bad? In all the new mmo’s it is easy to hit the level cap. Or sometimes there is no level at all ( Age of wushu). If you want a game where it would take you ages before you can hit the cap , then u’d rather want to start some of the 5-6 years back asian grindfest mmos. ( We all got bored from this shit didn’t we? )

Neverwinter , might not be your mmo , but yet it will keep you hooked for sometimes , the PvP arenas/battlegrounds are just amazing compared to what’s on the market. The game allows you to exp all the way to level cap just doing battlegrounds. So if you are a PvP fan , you certainly must try it out

Anyway that’s my 2cent

Heck even the combat feels kinda stale in that game. I do like NeverWinter as a game, but come on they could have take it one step further with the graphics and the combat.

2 hours into playing the game beyond this review and I already feel so far advanced beyond what I was on here. Macros, QWER hotkeys, no wonder I was getting trashed last night. Also fought a decent Fire Mage that showed me how it can be done. Risk/Reward still didn’t seem equal but he at least contributed for his team.

I’ll never understand how such an obscure Korean game development studio was able to gain the rights to using such iconic game characters like Sol Badguy from Guility Gear and Kyo from The King of Fighters in Lost Saga. But oh well, more power to them!

Long time WoW player here (I know, boo hiss) and I have to agree with you, particularly on Community. There used to be a time with WoW where you NEEDED to know who the good tanks and heals were to build a successful dungeon team, but now those days are long gone. Now, no one talks to one another except to troll each other, no one parties up; instead opting to use the cross-realm dungeon finder. I miss the days where I could log on, say something in Trade, and get a million invites to come tank something. Those were the days. Even now I can see WoW falling apart, and with newer, better games in the pipe (I’m currently having a ton of fun with Neverwinter.) I think it’s days are numbered.

Err…this article is clearly using pay-to-play criteria to judge a free-to-play game. 99% of F2P games don’t even have voice acting on more than main story quests and random blurbs from random NPCs, yet in a game where nigh on everything any NPC says in text form is present in voice form as well, you complain that it’s stilted and paint it as a negative. The one part I agree with there is the few times when different bits were clearly recorded at different times, leading to differing tones/inflections. It is quite immersion-breaking, but it is thankfully rare.

I’d also like to say that your understanding of the combat is weak at best, or you’re simply exaggerating to make your article more interesting. You only “lock on” to an enemy until either you stop holding down the button or your cursor/the target is moved quickly enough away. I do wish that they would remove (or, at the very least, add an option to remove) this lock entirely and simply have your spells target whatever your cursor is currently over WITHOUT automatically centering it on anything for you, as it’s far more of a frustration and hindrance than a help.

However, the real problem with the combat is simply the formulaic fights, though not at all in the way you claimed; while normal packs vary quite a lot (all little guys, multiple big guys, all melee, all ranged, a mix of any of the above, etc.), every boss is pretty much the same fight: big beefy tank with a smattering of skills to use who is completely innefectual at doing anything to anyone, accompanied by hordes of minions who will slaughter you and are in fact the only reason any fight is challenging, if it is. Essentially, the real boss of every dungeon is those same minions you just fought through for 30 minutes, just with a big boss-shaped “despawn button” you need to press (kill) to beat them. It’s quite a shame that Cryptic doesn’t seem to know how to do anything else for their boss fights really, but there are some good player-made boss-like mobs at least.

I do agree with most other points, and Neverwinter is far from perfect. Namely, the bland character customization and the whole not-being-D&D thing are major let-downs. But the sheer scope of what the Foundry adds (especially when you consider that it’s only the beginning and they’re working on so much more functionality for content creators) combined with the enjoyable, though not revolutionary, combat makes this game something that I think will do quite well for quite a while. I’ll certainly be sticking with it.

A disappointingly biased review, with an intent to slanderise an interesting title. I personally find that I enjoy Neverwinter, it does have its flaws but it also has a lot of bonuses to it that really make it shine. The foundry is not the only one.

In future however you should play the game for longer than a day before you write a ‘review’ as this is clearly not what you did. In previous websites I have worked for as a writer, before my current position with Gamersaurs, I was expected to play an MMORPG for at least 3-4 days and reach a level of experience that was adequate to begin commenting on the games content. This generally meant: Have completed one or two dungeons, be at least 1/4th way to max level and have played about with more of the classes and tried out or at least looked into all the content available to a new player.

I am seriously wondering if you did this, especially as you have not mentioned PvP. This game comes with PvP by the way, which is incredibly good fun and features domination. You capture and hold a control point, and its then a race for the team to get the most domination points (1000) and win. Its scoreboards only show kills, assists and score so I found a lot of team play going on instead of everybody racing to have the most kills in the match.

You also don’t mention crafting at all. While it is just really a facebook styled minigame, it is still a part of the game that you should have toyed with and be able to comment about if you are writing a ‘review’

I also can’t believe you are describing this game as plastic. it has some pretty amazing visual effects (spellcaster is shiny) and although the graphics are not cry-engine top of the line, they work well and fit the fantasy dark feel of the game, especially of the Neverwinter area. Its also worth noting here that you seem to have come in expecting something else. This game is set in the Neverwinter area, but it at some point will also feature Balders Gate, which as a series has had a lot of hack and slash rpg’s. Frankly I felt like i was playing a Balders Gate MMORPG, and that is definitely not a bad thing.

You do not seem to understand the combat: there is no ‘lock on’ feature, you can stop fighting and dodge or move at any given moment plus you can change target because you fire/stab at what you are aiming at, not what you are ‘targetting’ with a lock. Every attack has a chance to be dodged or to miss, the only real exception to this being magic missile (which as you all know, magic missile -never- misses in dnd)

Secondly, there is class and race specific questlines which add depth to the game. The dialogue is what i would expect from a title launching as F2P. Also, to add to this point the game is PACKED full of lore: Something you do not mention is the sheer amount of collectible and hidden lore you can find to read and flesh out the game experience. By the time I hit level 20 my lore page had grown from a single clickable description about Neverwinter, to about 12 each with about 1-2 pages of scrolling wordplay. The game also features many achievements as well.

Thirdly, the foundry is simply amazing. There are some incredible pieces of work in there made by DM’s which are worth the playthrough. Especially those who have already found a way to create skill checks. I have encountered these twice now, and though they were used only for lore/extra dialogue options it does open the doorway to future use of checks for other things.

And lastly, the difficulty level is always low at the start of a mmorpg. This is the industry standard, for you to be judging its difficulty before you get past at least level 15 is wrong.

I would not play the tutorial of a game then complain that the entire game is easy, that it is subpar, lacks content and storyline and of course, that there was no mob variety. Would you?

By the way, the game starts to get really difficult once you pass the 30’s, monsters are incredibly varied ranging from demons and were creatures through to undead, orcs, goblins, kobolds, dragons and skeletons. Its everything you want in a DND arcade game, which is exactly what this is: A extremely fun co-op DnD Arcade game.

When the games fleshed out a lot more with future classes, more paragon paths and so forth there will be a lot of fun to be had, so I too shall be sticking with it.

Sorry, but you’re wrong here. The game really does use something of a disguised tab-targeting system as the article said, just a bit less extreme: while you can’t actually push tab to target something, anything your cursor is currently over is essentially being targeted as if you had; any ranged power you use (not including ones manually placed on the ground) will hit that mob that your cursor is over, no matter what. In addition to that, when you use a ranged power the game automatically centers your cursor on the enemy it’s closest to, and keeps it there until you let go of the button in the case of continuous At-Wills. Players can use their dodge skills to avoid things in PvP, but it works the same there otherwise.

Melee powers are slightly different in that you also have to be within a certain range or else they’ll fail and the game doesn’t center your cursor on the enemy with them, but they’re also far worse on the auto-assist aspect as the game goes so far as to forcibly orient your character towards nearby enemies when you use them whether you like it or not, which makes trying to have precise control over your aim a study in frustration.

It would make a world of difference to remove these auto-assist features, and personally I’ve been asking them to since the first beta weekend as I dislike the game taking so much control away from me, but as it is currently they essentially just locked the camera of a targeted game to the cursor.

As a prior Prius
player, I was excited to get to try out the new and improved version
Arcane Saga. Immediately upon entering the world, you discover so much
has changed. As is typical with most CBT’s, there are bugs present and
the content is not fully realized yet. The chat filter, as is usual with
most if not all CBT’s, has random words being censored that shouldn’t
be. But as I said, that’s typical for CBT’s and it will be fixed come
launch. The mana regen seems to be lacking at lower levels, but once you hit higher levels (which you’ll hit 50 pretty quickly due to the increase in exp at lower levels), you’ll see the regen level out. With crafted gears and landing your combos, you can obtain the regen
you need to sustain. Just remember to craft pots at lower levels. The
new crafting system is centralized and great. As well as the addition of
the combo system, though I wish the combos would land and proc more often. At this time, there is no Atrium for your Anima or a Giga.
But those are things still in the works and will be released at a later
time. The new character creation screen is great however there are
those who miss the old styles and colors that are no longer present. The
healer classes not having any attack spells is a personal deal breaker
to me for playing that class, since I’m a solo player for the most part.
But GM’s seem aware of our complaint about that and may be changing
them up in the future since it basically seems like noone is willing to play that class due to this. Overall, at early levels it almost appears as tho it’s a whole new game to Prius veterans. Getting so many skills off the bat can be confusing to new users and a bit overwhelming to some. A lot of the Prius
veterans feel let down due things that were removed from the prior
version that they loved, however I am confident that our opinions are
being heard and that the GM’s are indeed listening to our suggestions
and won’t let us down. That’s always a good feeling in any MMO.

Reply
72. Lierkxis

@lychii:disqus It doesn’t really matter if the class is gender locked.., It’s how you play it., most MMO are gender locked… Gender isn’t really an issue if you really wanted that class 🙂

Reply
1. Shix

Gender also play a vital role in arcane saga. But i also want or better “hope” the game will allow us to choose what gender for every class. Since this system is way back from old mmo. I experience this before in RAN online but then in future patch they remove the gender locked.

Reply
1. 코알라

I doubt they will make that change. I think that the gender lock makes sense in Arcane Saga. People just need to view the characters as individual characters rather than certain genders/races. It’s like if you’re playing a console game and only have certain characters to choose from. They have their own individual skills.

I stopped playing at level 50 because I was a little disappointed with the pvp class not being usable in pve, but I know up until 50 it was still pretty fast leveling, especially with using the quest exp potions while doing the daily mission quests. Maybe after that it gets slower, but my friend got 50-54 in a day with a bit of grinding (and maybe some dungeons) and the highest level after the 1 week beta was level 60.

I agree that gigas need to come back as well as anima interaction and atrium.

However I like the skills, I just find it to be a big money grab if they require you pay each time you want to switch between jobs ( after the first freebie switch of the day ). I do hope they change this, it’s punishing to healers and have no damage skills right now.

I’m going to keep my eye out on this game and see how they listen to feedback when OBT is up and running and I have my fingers crossed for good things!

Reply
2. 코알라

They said the mp cost is being looked at, so hopefully it will improve in OBT 😀 I agree with the skills and jobs though. The system needs to be fixed because right now it’s not fun. Who wants to use the same skills at level 70 that they got at level 1? If healers had damage skills and pvp class could be used on monsters, it wouldn’t be too bad. The best thing would be to bring back the old skill system though, but keep the combo system. There was nothing wrong with it. I do like the quicker leveling, although I worry that people will hit max level much too quickly and the population will die off. I also think they need to revamp the story so that it feels like an actual storyline as it did in the old version, rather than the scattered, unrelated cutscenes that were present in the CBT.

Played since the closed beta … now in “open beta”. They do a lot of updates and a lot of fixes, but, a lot of “breaks” as well. Some people paid $200 USD for the founders pack so they could make their own story/quest lines. Neverwinter EXP was “nerfed” in these because some people (it happens .. whatever …) were using it to power level their toons up. Now you get little to no EXP for the player made content. Player made content was at least 50% or more the reason this game was “good”. Now its just a linear “action rpg” with very little class development/features/skills. Im a 39 tank and i have no idea what im doing in the story line, i just follow the quest trail. The game is 100% “pay to win” because you will have to play 4x longer then those that pay for the “in game money” (gold in game is pointless, its other currency that buys your gear) to get the “good gear”. PVP is only until like level 20 (if not then i haven’t found where it allows me to queue for PVP past 20’s).

Its a standard MMO ARPG, nothing “special” and certainly the furthest thing from “D&D” i have ever found. It is as close to D&D as any other MMO out there.

Honestly, i give this thing a 4/10.

The game, itself, is an oldie but a goodie.

However the management from SUBA is terrible. With a rotation of new GMs, tickets take days for a response and bugs take YEARS to fix. Problems with the game have lead the gamers to play around the bug issues or develop their own bug fixes (something the employees should be doing). What keeps the game going is the community of dedicated players who
have stuck with the game for decades because they love it for its
nostalgia.

Also SUBA’s forum has the strictest ban policy and new community manager I’ve ever seen. Users get banned for: linking to outside fansites, mentioning any previously closed threads or banned users, and swearing even when they censored their own words with *** or #@$ (sometimes you just need that extra cuss word for emphasis). “IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, YOU CAN LEAVE” is the CM’s response to the many complains from players. And this is what a lot of former players, GMs, and CMs have done.

So, are you still interested in Pristion Tale? It’s a simple game with a small and active community that will entertain you for hours. But don’t expect a lot of support from the company.

Luckily, I didn’t play Blue Dragon anymore so it didn’t phase me to much. However, I did want my stuff back and Snail basically told me it was my fault and my responsibility and that they they would not, in any capacity, help me get my stuff back. Even tho there was still mail logs from the hackers sending stuff from my account to his account that basically told them everything that I had lost.

To chinese producers: I know youre just a minions, but tell your boss that if you want to make money, he needs to take a day off, and install and play dungeon keeper 1 and 2 at home. NOONE in EUROPE and US is going to give you MONEY for this. WE WILL GIVE YOU MONEY for similiar games like DK, DK2, Startopia, etc. Making a WoW clone is cool, your boss says probably like “It worked in the west, make it more colorful! Add bigger swords! Enlarge those tits! Add flower explosions!!!” if he does, and i know he does, we are all doomed. If you care for your company tell your boss, that millions of european wallets are waiting for a proper DK game. It is not difficult to make. You simply need to clone DK instead of Wow. But your boss needs to agree, and notice the point in doing so. This happens everywhere, everytime, thousands of companies in Japan and China release poor games, that are all the same. Using Dungeon Keeper in the title won’t give you anything. anything. And It could give you MONEY, not all the comapnies had this chance of using this title. Dungeon keeper gets typed in google very often. Millions of people are watching you, and you apparently fucked up with your wow-final-Fantasy-Zelda-everything-else mix. You want to make money? I want to play Dungeon Keeper 3. Many people would pay A LOT. ( Have you even researched the market)? You got a chance getting these copyrights for title. Don’t make a Wow clone, make a Dungeon keeper out of it, it will earn you more money. Tell your boss this is a cultular thing – I cna see his response – “nonsense! We got great tile! And a game s amazing as World of Wacraft! Thousands of users! Big Swords! Even Bigger Claws and Tits! Multiple magical items! One of my favorite FPS on the online market! NOt as good of course as the box title battle sims like Battle field. But wayy better than those dime a dozen shooters (Arctic whatever, Black Shot whatever, AVA, etc etc) All hacker fest crap fests. This game gets the challenge out, not to hard, and perfectly balanced. Great progression and bareable grind…not to mention fun enough that you won’t notice the grind. The crafting is the carrot on the stick and controls super smooth. Finaly a game hackers can’t ruin, even if you hack it won’t effect other players. I love the grouping system and solo system.
So far best shooter on the market for me.

Hello,

I would
like to share with you my experience with this bad company.

This is
based on over 1 year time spent in SMITE and 2 years in other MOBA games. I
have nothing to those games at all, but to company who is way too sensitive for
players behaviour which unfortunatelly making community just worse.

So Im the
one of very rare and excint species of gamers, who are really need to spread
true rewievs about any game they play. I know everything about game I currently
play, I just must to know that!

Ok, let’s
back to Hi-rez, so I started playing 1 year ago in very early beta stage, I did
2 accounts because I wanted to get “1st win bonus” on both of them, I
had time so that wasnt problem to level them together. I hit lvl 30 very easy
and then started problems. I found very major issue with matching system, which
matched ME (pro and competitive) with very low levels and caused me to be
“hero of the team”. If I couldnt win 1 vs 5, then match was 100% lost
because other just were useless like minions.

Naturally I
was nervous and I tried teach my whole team what to buy and what to do, but
they always reply like rebel period teenagers “Dont tell me what to do! Im
adult!” So I started using more offensive words like “You idiot, Im
just trying to help you and you do nothing to team, you are match
destroyer” and after match they keep reporting me for
“HARASSMENT” I got banned plenty of time because of that so I created
3rd account because I found out that:

lvl 6-20 –
PERFECT MATCHING SYSTEM

lvl 20-27 –
HMMM OK, HAPPENS

28-30 –
UNBALANCED, UNFAIR MATCHING

example of
my team at lvl 30: lvl 10,11,13,11 and me lvl 30

enemy team:
lvl 19,20,23,13,18

So again I
got banned for “harassment” because I cant really stay calm while
someone destroying whole matches and wasting my precious time for senseless
things.

Those all
bans I got were tempolary until 2 days ago when I met one guy who insulted me
and other druing whole match because no reason (really, because we were
winning) and everything was fine, he probably was just in bad mood and after
match when other reported him for “harassment” he told he dont care
because he is friend of GM Hi-rezAlexander and we will be banned within 24
hours. LOL this was exactly my team reaction for this and how surprised I was,
while exactly near this time I got my 3rd account banned for 2 weeks…

OVERALL:

I spent 2
years before SMITE in other MOBA games and I have never been banned there,
community was random same as SMITE (casual + cometitive) and sometimes someone
got rage but I repeat – NEVER seen someone banned for insulting or language,
just for match griefing like leaving, afk, feeding etc. So where is the
problem?

HI-rez –
this is problem!

So Im
leaving this game permanently because here is no place for competetive players
like me, just for people who dont know how to play and they reporting everyone
for “harassment” because u called him “stupid”.

Bye, share
this story with everyone if you can, because this is great game, but
unfortunatelly developer is way too serious for harassment term.

Reply
1. Tanthalas

So let me get this straight: you got banned multiple times for insulting and flaming people because they didn’t build the way you wanted them to, and this is supposed to be a BAD thing?? Dude, you’re what’s wrong with competitive games. The incessant flaming from players who only care about winning and think they’re god’s gift to gaming, ruins the fun for everyone else. Instead of crying about getting banned, why don’t you figure it out that harassing and bullying people has no place in games, and grow up already.

You don’t usually see game companies advertising their game in this way, but I wonder what people think who haven’t played ASO before. Will people be encouraged to play, seeing the silly side of the staff? Or just think it’s a weird video.

I’ve never played a game where the developers have such a good humor , and I hope they’ll keep it going as the game devolpes. Well, other than tera of course, with the punny quests. One of those games you should stay far far away from. The cash grab will literally bank rupt you as you link your personal bank account to this game. The core is boring and not fun. The energy and time does not equal the reward it gives back. The core is also nothing but sex chat for old men. The reason “there are new players” is because they change the titles of the game. I thought I was on a totaly new game, about to download and found out it was a Second Life / PLanet Calipso / “insert name of all seperate epxansions … wuickly stopped the DL and swore out loud.
I would support it if a sub fee got you far, but as you saw…to buy certain things…certain things an elite rich few have…you will need to take out a loan…all for a crap sex chat game…yeah…no.

^ A classic example of “mah/mah daddy’s credit card cannot buy it for me ergo it is a crap game !”. Entropia is a difficult game universe to get into but you can do it free 2 play if you have the tenacity and the perseverance to do so. I broke into the game without ever investing a cent, granted it took quite a few months of sweating and running around exploring and getting teleporter links but… it is possible just know that A) you need people to play with or else you will burn out and B) that you will be sweating animals for most/all of your in-game f2p run.

Wow, what a typical response from someone that doesn’t remotely understand the dynamics of the game (yes, I know I used the work “Dynamics” ;)).

You obviously haven’t done any amount of decent research; if you had you would know categorically that EU is NOT Second Life nor is it anything like it, sex talk included. Nor do you appear to understand the niche that it fits into where people really are looking for quality over quantity and something that engages them on an intellectual level, not just the mindless “grind-for-gold-or-XP-to-levelup” mentality of more “mainstream” MMOs.

Fact is, throwing money at it doesn’t get you anywhere, unlike other games where money and mindless grinding for xp will buy you uberdom in less than a week. EU and more specifically Planet Arkadia is MORE than just a game. It can take years to master the economics, something that most players of our “instant-gratification-generation” simply don’t have the patience, or dare I say it, mental dexterity for.

You see the core as boring? Well then, you simply don’t understand what is going on and have paid no attention to even the most basic information that the system itself provides (such as the record of you avatars skills and the statistical requirements of the equipment available to you), or to the other people “playing” around you. If you did, you would find it anything but boring…

Unlike mainstream MMOs, the player community also plays an active part in your success or failure. You simply cannot walk through it on your own and “reach the stars” without help or custom from your fellows, and certainly not by actively treading on other people to get there. What’s more, the community isn’t just within the confines of the game-client…it extends out to the associated forums and to real life where you actually can and do make REAL longterm friends (and even business contacts/partners).

Planet Arkadia (and EU) is for those people looking for a challenge in their gaming, where every decision they make has a very real consequence and give you thrills in ways you simply cannot get from subscription based games.

I actively challenge any and all people to come to Planet Arkadia and give it a genuine go, learn to “play” properly and not enjoy themselves on a far higher level than the mindless-grind-generation. Do you really have what it takes??

What a biased review. “WASD for movement”? Come on! Couldn’t you find something better to criticize? Like “It uses guns”.

Sudden Attack really pioneered the free-to-play MMOFPS genre. You can’t compare it to pay-for-play games like counter strike. You pay for additional features. And if some of them are useless for you, maybe they are useful for other people, like vanity items. If not, don’t buy them!

Reply

I must have missed the “sex chat”. I have had nothing but a positive experience on Arkadia since joining EU over a month ago. Everybody that I have met has been extremely helpful and decent.
I think if you go into the game trying to make a bunch of money you are entering with the wrong attitude. Look at the game as an investment in your quality of entertainment, and I believe you will have a much better time. What does it cost to go to a movie? How much for a ball game? Hell I’ll spend $200 on a Tuesday night at a steakhouse. You just need to balance what you value as entertainment costs with legitimate expectations, and I guarantee you will enjoy your time in EU.
I hope you give EU another chance. I am a long-time MMO player and have never found a better game.

Very nice article there Narfi.
Have been on Arkadia since launch 2 years a 3 days ago (OK been off planet a few times for a few days) and I loved every minute of it.

The thing I like about Entropia Universe and Arkadia is the mainly mature players and the fact that you are not uber after a few weeks of months. also the fact that you can basically do anything you like. Don;t feel like shooting creatures, go mining or crafting or even stand around and talk to some people (which you actually can do without people talking sex (well most of the time 😉 ) or name calling.

So, if you are up to a challenge, don’t expect to be rich in a few weeks and don’t expect to be uber in a few weeks, give it a go.

Basically at level 99 all the experience you earn can be sold for stats and you can just continue to grow and grow and grow.. Its amazing for pvp and extremely fun. The roleplay is unbeatable.

GunZ is the best free game I’ve ever played. I think there is still f2p private servers around but currently no legit companies supporting this game any more. I played this game for damn near a decade, went through 3 companies hosting it and now it is dead. What made gunz so good, is all the styles. Styles were not ment to be in the game, but thanks to crap korean coding you could abuse the character animation to perform multiple task at once. Like Jump then slash blocking in the air was called “Butterfly” . Jumping in the air slashing your opponent then switching to a gun and shooting them before you land was called Slash shot. Those were the two basic k-style moves. Man this game had so much to offer and with updated graphics would still have more to offer. Surprised this game never caught on, well not really it took a lot of practice to play it competitively.

Bullets dont exist it is lasers cuz it makes no sense. Exp. A truck mounted .50 cal shot to the head of a guy on atv does nothing but reduce atv armor…it feels unreal. That creates situational combat, not tactical. It is like other Sony titles. Cheap n stale

I had a lot of fun with this early on but started sucking more and more after the mid 40’s. The cash shop is annoyingly pay-to-win but worse than that the crafting has disgustingly high failure rates. After 200+ tries at creating the same armor I realized why none were ever on the auction house and gave up. There was no crafted high level gear at all when I played because the fail rate is too high. There are also bugs where you can randomly lose things and support wants a fee to try and recover them…

The publisher seems to have a problem working/communicating with the developer.

Game is a waste of time and space. I played it and people are frigging bi-polar. I actually thought this is worse than the diplomacy on Civilization 5 at deity level. The only alliances that prosper are war alliances that like to pillage people but when you fight back even though they “respect” 1v1s between players you get completely crush by them. If you want to be crushed repeatedly until you quit just buy Civ 5 and play on the hardest difficulty. At least with Civ you can lower the difficulty to make the game easier so you can get better and add mods so it’s always. On this that is not the case. Another that I rather play than this is simcountry

I love the game, and the Foundry in particular, but the experience rate is often far too high, leaving you with a level 40 character in a level 35 zone.
But the major problem this game has right now, is the absolutely terrible (read: no) customer support for anyone that has problems, with Perfect World taking active measures to avoid being contacted and threatening to sue players that chargeback due to being entirely unable to use the things they paid for.

I have put a lot of my own money Into this game and would like to know a reason for my incapability to hit anything of value when I see so many others hit it big not just once but many times. The question is what am I doing wrong. How can a new player hit it big and I ,an active player, get nothing. Frustration is setting in and can’t believe the bad luck I have had playing. Almost all of the problems it has (with the exception of hackers) is do to Nexon’s own dumb mistakes. Most of the worst ideas Nexon’s had are purely based on profitability, with no thought into the long term affects. If you need an example; the entire arsenal. Nexon advertises how many weapons they have added to the game over the years. What they fail to realize is that NONE of these weapons, in the slightest way, do not resemble the guns who’s names they bare. Nor do they talk about how half of the weapons are actually the same gun with a different paint job, or a scope that you cannot remove.
Did I mention there are no iron sights . . .

In my opinion AVA is a MUCH higher quality game. Even though it bugs me that AVA pretends the EU is NATO, and that the Nato Response Force (NRF) is Russia.

AVA also has no iron sights 🙁

I run both sites. We combine the giveaway keys in one database (same username is good on both sites for that matter). So if you sign in on either site it will give you the same key.

Looks like the redemption page won’t be live until later today (July 3rd). Grab your key and keep it safe in the meantime if the link isn’t working. Should be up soon.

Hitting – (subtract) on your keyboard can also zoom out in Dungeons. Just thought i’d point that out at least. :3

This game would actually be pretty good… if it wasn’t for the stamina system. You get to play 2 – 3 hours, then it boots you off or forces you to play a new character. I swore this game off until they get rid of the stamina system… and I’m still not reversing on that decision.

Does it get worse when you reach higher levels? I was probably putting in 4-5 hours a day while working on this review and never got below 10% stamina.

When I played my OverTaker, he was around level 33ish, and doing the hardest difficulty runs would sap his stamina straight to hell in about 2 – 3 hours, if lucky. That’s just my experience though, and that was around a year ago, when I was doing my Battle Journal. They MIGHT have improved it, but I’d rather just not fool with stamina in the first place.

Although it is advertised as a free game, it is not. You receive the basic features to start. However, to actually play/run your empire, you must pay for the premium features. This can be quite expensive. In fact, if you pay, it will easily add up to much more than you would pay for better games like WoW per month. This is a major flaw and forces people to leave when they realize that they actually have to pay quite a bit to play. No one likes to be tricked.

One must also devote a tremendous amount of time to this game. Based on real world time, you can be attacked at any time of the day or night. Thus, you could be hit at 2 am or 2 pm. You have a limited window to respond. If you do not, you simply lose. It actively takes advantage of sleep patterns. This is a problem. It is yet another reason people will not stay.

It is also noteworthy to mention. If you started when the world opens, you will ALWAYS be ahead of people that do not start at the beginning. This is an game of accretion. Anyone starting early will have more opportunities and resources. Late joiners will likely not succeed. So, why bother?

Likewise, as mentioned by others, this game has a real issue with its moderators. They are unpaid and also play this game. They can be quite petty. As such, they take action against those that have harmed them and seek out reasons to punish. Banishment is a viable option and rampant. You will receive NO warning. They do not care because they are the ones that banished you. Thus, the game is also a game of kissing tail in that you must stay on the good side of moderators or be punished for some transgression at a later time. Not to mention, their rules on shared connections. Even if you have different devices, they will claim entire areas cannot be shared and banish accordingly. At any given time, large numbers of players are under banishment proceedings. Oftentimes, the islands on this game are made up more of vacant spots than real players.

These issues are real problems for this game. It is why very few people stay. They start, quickly realize this game is not very good, and they leave. If they stay, they will likely be banished at a later point.

Overall. Cool concept. VERY poor delivery, application and administration. I give this game 2 of 10 ratings. I do NOT recommend it. It is a very poor choice.

If you ask scientists have proved how to fart and so on, and has been like a fart fart fart, and as such has been proven, a very famous sentence. see you later.

That’s because Ourspark has lost all of their games and has completely shut down. No clue how OnRPG has beta codes for a game that isn’t being published anymore.

Or, if you are a decent person, you’d say, “I think Grand Fantasia is better, but, that’s my opinion”

Even though I disagree with that.

SV… i could just leave this post as being SV but i will actually go into details.

SV have made countless decisions over the years that are downright underhanded or just plain wrong… stuff like falsely banning people or banning them for say a month for telling them to do their job. Hackers are allowed to run rampant with little to NO punishment ever being givin. i could name tones of people atm that are well known for these horrific actions that are STILL playing.

SV has been hacked and the hackers exposing how they can screw both me and all of you fellow community members.

i will be banned for saying the truth so i hope i can reach as many of you as i can before they ban me aswell. I am but a lowly surf thats TIRED of being screwed over and over by this company. i have recieved multiple bans for no reason at all even month bans because im tired of watching this company allow people to Hack/exploit they way to freedom and when i speak out about it i get banned for a month…

no my fellow citizens i do not hate Mortal Online i HATE the company that has proved time and time again to be the WORST company on earth… they make WarZ’s company look like saints. EA look like GODS and if there ever was a worse company well you get my point.
