During Gamescom 2019’s “Opening Night Live”, Everspace 2 was revealed by Rockfish Games. Everspace 2 will be launched for PC and consoles, and a Kickstarter for the game, for additional funding will begin on September 9th, 2019. They will be seeking €450,000 to fund EVERSPACE 2, and the community will be involved in the development, as with the campaign of its predecessor. EVERSPACE 2 will be an open-world space shooter, with classic RPG elements and persistent player progression. A much larger number of player ships will be available, and players can also look forward to enhanced storytelling. It is scheduled to drop on Steam Early Access in the second half of 2020, and the full PC, PS4, and Xbox One editions are scheduled for the end of 2021.
“With its innovative concept of rapid space battles with rogue-like elements and exciting storytelling, EVERSPACE™ was able to excite over a million PC and console players, but many of our fans and space game enthusiasts were still longing for an open-world space shooter with classic RPG elements in the EVERSPACE™ universe,” says Michael Schade, CEO and co-founder of ROCKFISH Games. “With EVERSPACE™ 2, we are making a big leap towards an open-world space shooter, but will still remain true to our DNA and offer exactly what our fans love: A beautiful fantastic sci-fi world paired with uncompromising space action that gets down to business right away”.
