Ingress is an alternate reality game on a global scale. Created by Niantic Labs (Google) and available for Android and iOS, players partake in an ongoing science fiction story that uses real-world data. Joining one of two factions, players find and scan 'portals' made visible through the mobile app, using them to claim territory for their faction and war against the other faction for domination.
