My name is Eric. I've been gaming since the Atari. My first shooter was Wolfenstein 3D, my first MMORPG was Ultima Online. Being my first and still favorite hobby, I'm not ashamed to call myself a gamer. It has been my privilege to watch the world of gaming evolve over the past twenty years, seeing the leaps, both forward and backward, it has taken in the process. The name “Misanthropologist” is a portmanteau of “misanthrope” and “anthropologist,” first coined by Carl Abrahamsson, which essentially means “a person who loathes people but enjoys studying them.” This term has apparently come into some kind of Internet vogue in recent years, with numerous others claiming its invention. They are all wrong. It predates the Internet. And that's what you should know about me as a writer: I don't hesitate to say when I think someone or something is wrong. I do my best to be polite, considerate and objective, but you will encounter criticisms. When you do, I hope that you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
