Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror Game Hits Kickstarter

This was shared with me today on social media, and I had to spread the word of it. PamaliĀ is from StoryTale Studios and they’re looking to create a folklore horror game based on Indonesian culture and has a take on Indonesian taboo and culture that will shape the horror itself. Their Kickstarter page has a demo where interested parties can give it a whirl, and I highly recommend it. The question asked in their Kickstarter (and in their game) is “What is horror?” and the concept of Horror varies from culture to culture, and wish to share what horror is to them with the world. It’s an ambitious project, and from a games journalism perspective as well as from a cultural perspective, it’s an absolutely fascinating idea. I hope that they meet their goal of 18,000 dollars and this comes to life. A link to their Kickstarter is provided here.
