Total War: Rome II Receives New Prequel Campaign Pack

A new prequel campaign pack is coming on August 9th for Total War: Rome II in the form of “Rise of the Republic”, which is set in the year 399. Though Rome is poised for greatness, their existence lies on a razor’s edge. This will depict the events that led to the Second Founding of Rome and beyond, and the fledgling republic must carve out of her place in history. You know, or die trying. Rise of the Republic features a super-detailed campaign map that depicts the landmass of Italy and its neighbors and introduces nine playable factions, including Rome, the great city-state of Syracuse, and the Gallic tribe of the Senones.

The new Government Actions feature enables players to activate unique bonuses for their chosen faction while engaging in new region-specific dilemmas drawn from the annals of history. Alongside this will be the Ancestral Update, which introduces the Family Tree to all ROME II campaigns. It offers a visual representation of your family and nobles, enabling you to interact with and manipulate characters, forge bonds and alliances and more. The Ancestral Update will also have an opt-in beta and is available now at the following link. Rise of the Republic will have a 10% off discount until August 9th as well.
