This month has marked a milestone for Marvel Heroes Omega/2016. This was their fourth year of running the hit isometric action RPG. It’s a game that I love, that’s now on also on console, which is beautiful. However, I heard some pretty disappointing news this morning. The Fantastic Four, as we all know, is owned by Fox. What we also all know, is that every film outing by Fox, of the Fantastic Ones were awful. All of them. Every single one of them. I’m still mad about the Galactus appearance in “Rise of the Silver Surfer”. You can’t spend Gs on them anymore [but you can use Eternity Splinters until July]. On July 1st, you will no longer be able to purchase the following characters:
- Reed Richards
- The Human Torch
- Ben Grimm [The Thing]
- Susan Storm [Invisible Woman]
- Silver Surfer
- All skins involving the Fantastic Four and the Future Foundation [including the Spider Man ones].
If you already own them, you get to keep them at least! They no longer have a licensing agreement with Fox, which is actually a pretty horrifying thought. Though Dr. Doom is still owned by Marvel [thank God for that] and will still be in the game, what does that mean for the X-Men characters? Those are still very much owned by Fox Studios. Everything Fantastic Four is disappearing, like the comics, statues, cards, etc. Once Marvel lost the ability to profit, that’s the end of that! The Mutants are vanishing from comics, Fox is making “films” supposedly, such as the forthcoming Dark Phoenix movie [which will have Dazzler, and that makes me happy]. But what happens if that film flops? What happens if Gazillion cannot retain the rights to use X-Men characters in their game? Do you have any idea how much of the game will vanish? Let’s take a look at just some of them:

- Wolverine
- Gambit
- Colossus
- Juggernaut
- Kitty Pryde
- Magneto
- Magik
- Cable
- Emma Frost
- Nightcrawler
- Havoc
The X-Men are among my favorite comic franchises of all time, and Cyclops remains my favorite Mutant. But if Fox gets it in their head that they can bully Gazillion, I’m very worried about the possible results. I love this game, and though I’ve been a little absent from it this month, it’s one of my favorite isometric games, I’ve enjoyed introducing my friends to it … I don’t want to see that many characters disappear from a terrific game.
